Sixth Anniversary Combo Breaker

Ive recently moved to a property which is on business electricity..the previous owner left no details of provider but Yu energy contacted our solicitor after a few weeks. They would not allow me to get a quote online for usage going forward so I went to switch and did some other quotes myself. I settled on British Gas lite but Yu energy have blocked my transfer..so does this mean that I cant move and Yu energy can charge me whatever they want..not happening without a fight! 😡

Is this a residential property or a commercial one?

On the day you took ownership (or the day your tenancy/lease started) you became a customer of Yu Energy. You need to set up an account with them and pay them up to the date you switch away.

… just be very careful not to agree to a new contract.

The rates for being out of contract will be extortionate and this really should have been taken care of the moment you took possession.

It is normal to include details of current energy suppliers when purchasing property, did your solicitor not highlight this lack of information during the purchase process?
