How can I convert Quicktime .mov file to mpeg or avi (for free)?

Hi!

I need to covert a quicktime file to mpeg or avi so I can put it into powerpoint.

The original format is .mov and the only free software I can find puts an annoying watermark on the finished product!

Is there any way I can do it for free whilst not compromising the quality of the video?
