Fuse is still Paddington?

Mornin' all.

Today we are switching from EDF to Fuse - and when I switched on the smart meter I found it displayed our supplier as "Paddington".

A thorough search on the internet initially showed very little, especially on the Fuse info at Companies House. However I now find that Fuse acquired Paddington several years ago and supposedly, Paddington no longer exists.

Seems strange that Fuse never mentioned anything about Paddington or warned us this would show as our supplier. Not a good start.

Wait till you get a bill and try to work it out - they are a shower of chancers - displaying all the traits of the earlier failed suppliers - and I can't wait for my contract to end to get away from them.

Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.

Just to throw in my experience of Fuse, Ive been with them a few months and never had an issue, app happily shows usage down to hourly which is all I can ask for. Bills are absolutely fine either.

Just for a bit of balance, like.

Electric fine, gas is a whole different story. Basically they overcharge on every bill due to not following the OFGEM licence condition mandated calculation method. And their backwards calculated VAT doesn't work out.

According to Companies House they didn't so much as acquire Paddington but simply changed their name in 2023 from Paddington Power to Fuse Energy.

They have their own supplier license and paddington dont according to the Ofgem listing

    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/data/list-all-electricity-licensees-including-suppliers

There's no Paddington in the current list.

I wonder if other users have seen the same - so a failure to update the messages they send to smart meters in general (I am not even sure I can see the data on my old smets1)
