Argos Card balance transfer

Hi all,

Has anyone had any success in doing a balance transfer with an Argos card ?

According to Martin Lewis is it possible despite some comments below this video saying this information is incorrect.

Has anyone done this before? Is a balance transfer possible? What bank did you use?

I tested this out with one bank Ie Asda, it asks for the long card number for the which you want to transfer the balance from however as the argoscard isnt a mastercard or visa it didnt accept it.

I know the argos card is now moving to something called Argos pay through Newday not sure how this would affect things.

Any personal experiences of this?

I don't think it's possible tbh - the Argos card ia not a credit card in the normal sense. Your best bet would be to phone your credit card company to see if they can do it manually but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

Your alternative would be looking at a money tranasfer card.

Thanks for the comments, yeah i was thinking that this might be the case. Seems to be next to no information online about this either so doesn't look promising

You don't need any information. If you have Argos card you can just check what methods are available for paying it off. If CC payments are available, then, if you have a CC, you can make a small payment and see how it's processed by the CC provider.

I meant next to no information in relation to others completing a balance transfer successfully with an argos card. consider Martin Lewis had a video up saying it was possible in the link provided in the first post, it appears from all accounts that this information is wrong.

A CC is not accepted when attempting to make a payment to them.
