Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. A beautiful start here with the sun shining and blue sky. Sadly not very warm! Currently 3 deg and set to rise to 10 deg.
First job must be new month banking - a day late! It's been an expensive month and this month won't be much better. Why do all big bills arrive together.
Usual Thursday jobs will follow, the pre Friday Tidy of cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. What an exciting life I lead.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning again, it's a sunny start here.
Hope you enjoyed your Michelin meal last night Gers.
Camelot, hope you're feeling better.
Ruby, I was shocked to read about O's mum, and her cruelty towards him, hope Social Services remove him immediately, he must be so frightened all the time.
Nothing much going on today, well, I've got a friend coming for a coffee this morning, and one of my house bound friends had asked me to visit this afternoon with some shopping. If I'm strictly honest I could do without going out this afternoon - hope that doesn't make me sound like a horrible person! I will go though, I would never refuse.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Good morning
Cloudy out, but feels mild. I'm off to the eye clinic later to have my other cataract surgery. I hope I get a more sociable surgeon this time, or if it's the same one, that he's in a better mood. Yesterday was spent getting ready. Honestly, you'd think I was having major surgery, everything that can be washed has been. Even the sofa throw and cushion covers. Still, it kept me busy.
No idea what's for tea, something that DH can ping.
Ruby, wow, what a crazy, dangerous woman. Hope you get your payment sorted out, and SS help O.
Have a good day all, take care.

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet it’s bright but chilly here I’m getting someone coming this afternoon to hopefully fit me a water meter I’m going to make some shepherds pies to put in the freezer we will have one tonight and I had a good tidy in the cupboards yesterday and found a couple of tins of corned beef at the back I’m going to make a couple of corned beef pies I will make small plate ones hubby will have some for lunch when he comes in from playing golf i will freeze the others . I’m at the food waste early tomorrow because it’s held in the church and they need it for the Easter service but no charity shop on the afternoon. I hope you’re meal waste early tomorrow nice Gers . TA I’m the same as you just looking at how much these bills have gone up and trying to drum it into hubby about trying to save or at least not waste we ended up having a proper ding dong yesterday he came out of the garage and left all the lights on and then went back in and left the hot tap running so he got it all guns blazing and he wasn’t very happy when I said there would be no money for his golf membership next year if he continues he’s not a child as I keep reminding him he’s supposed to be a responsible adult safe to say he’s still stomping about. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning @Scarlet, morning all. Not quite sure what happened yesterday - I know I read everyone's news but somehow forgot to post! Oh well, there wasn't anything wildly exciting to say so I don't suppose it matters! 😁
It's a beautiful morning with clear blue skies and not a breath of wind but there's still a chill in the air at either end of the day. We're in April now so fingers crossed there will be a steady improvement in the weather.
Wednesday's foray into the linen cupboard has left me with three pairs of curtains I don't use any more; one I'm going to alter to use again and the other two I'll save (for now) on the basis that DS will eventually move out once he gets back on his feet and may need them, depending on whether he gets somewhere furnished or unfurnished. If he doesn't need them they can go.
Yesterday passed in a blur with not much to tell but today I'm going to get out in the sunshine - a walk to the Co-op/dispose of soft plastics this morning and over to the PO this afternoon to deposit some money into my bank via the PO. Now there's a rarity! 😃 DS was up early doors for another interview and won't be back until mid-afternoon (travelling from W Yorks to Northamptonshire). Can't say he's not trying!
@Gers - Glad you enjoyed the Morse play, hope the Michelin dinner was as good.
@Chrisca - Sorry to hear your boiler has had to be capped, hopefully the gas leak will be sorted out asap.
@camelot - It's a shame you're cancelling your visit to friends this weekend, hope you're feeling a little better now.
@Ruby - You're well out of that situation and I hope the PTB get their bums moving to make sure O is safe. His mother sounds a real piece of work.
@NRA - Fingers crossed the bathroom is back in action soon; glad you're able to use a friend's shower in the meantime.
@Coxy - Safe journey, enjoy Fort William.
@snoozer - Fingers crossed the Yorkshire house sale goes smoothly.
@remmie - Best wishes for today's cataract surgery. The surgeon who did my second eye was definitely in need of a refresher course on bedside manners whereas the first one was lovely - I hope you get a good one.
@Izzy - Oh lors, those bills are such a worry, I hope you and hubby are still on speaking terms! Hugs.
Have a good day all, take care. Wave to our MIA, hugs for anyone in need of one. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning from a sunny, bright and chilly Glasgow. Thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons
The food yesterday was so blooming delicious I wanted to eat more though couldn't. It was like being in an episode of the Great British Menu. Small morsels of fabulous food, now I'm back to toast and marmite. 😁
It's shocking news about O's mother and home conditions so I hope @RedRuby1231's report is taken notice of. I'll be heading home once the sun has defrosted the car windscreen. Family in Australia are basking in mid to high 20's, here's hoping for us.Take care all. Hugs.

REMMIE, it seems it's destiny to have one good and one unpleasant cataract surgeon. Like YL I had one of each too. The first one was lovely, put me at ease straight away and explained what he was doing every step of the way. The second one, on the other hand, just ignored me and had a long running conversation with a nurse about his time working in Bournemouth whilst he was doing the op. x

Bright and sunny here but very cold with a stiff breeze.
Thank you for your good thoughts re the O situation, I spent a lot of yesterday on the phone again, I had three calls from safeguarding lasting around 1/2 hr each, they are going to visit O today but his mum knows they are coming so will be all sweetnesses around them, I have asked them to take Oscar into another room to speak to him independently it will be difficult as he can’t talk but I’ve told them to watch his eyes and body movements and to put his eye gaze on, the sw said they will call the police if she starts to get violent and they are not going alone there will be a man and a woman visiting, I’ve also told them to check his arms and legs as he has sores all over them. I’m not convinced that anything will be done, it’s the Rob situation all over again but hopefully he will get some help, I still have had no money 😡 and she emailed me last night a long email and said it’s ‘for my records’ of every email we have ever sent each other, I have obviously kept my emails for evidence so didn’t need her to re- send them but it’s all mid games 🙄 I won’t be replying to her again as that’s what she is feeding off of, she is twisted!
I have a work meeting today at lunchtime and will be looking and applying for some other jobs today.
Dinner tonight will be a fish finger sandwich with a few chips on the side, nice and easy. I am expecting a lot more calls today so time will be tight.
Remmie I hope all goes well today xxx
Have good days all and take care xx

Chilly but bright this morning.
Gas engineer due some time between 8-1. Hope he can fix the leak as I don't want to be without all over Easter. Really missing not having hot water and like the heating on low early evening when it starts to get a bit chillier.
@RedRuby1231 Hope she doesn't pull the wool over their eyes and can sort something out to keep O safe. I was thinking exactly the same thing re Rob. How many more poor souls are out there suffering without help from people like yourself x
Have a good day all x

Morning all. Dry here but not really warm.
We've had a lot going on recently: DH had his first cataract done last Friday and is finding that he's better off not wearing his glasses at all. He's borrowing a pair of my cheapie reading glasses for now but needs to buy sunglasses, as he only has the ones that clip over his glasses. He'll probably start driving again over the weekend and will be pleased to be able to abandon the eye shield at night.
I had a private ENT appointment yesterday and I now need to arrange a full hearing assessment, which I've done for next week, and, depending on that, I'll find out the best way forward.
DDiL's due date has been brought forward to 25 April but things can change so much at the end of pregnancy. We will wait and find out in due course. DS is under strict orders to keep us informed!
I think our Easter weekend will be relatively quiet, with the days getting very busy after that.
So sorry to hear about O and all the problems there Ruby. It does make you wonder how so much of this goes undetected.
Glad DP1 has managed to get her parents together; a massive task it seems.
Best wishes to all for a Happy Easter.
