Funding for new windows..(ads)
Hi all,
I've been a flood of facebook reels targeting me via 'the algorithm' advertising funding for new windows.
There are a plethora of different companies out there (latest one for example smarterhomeupgrades.com) and they typically follow the same format of a promise of 1000s funding initiated by a postcode check.
Given its facebook my initial instinct is to avoid like the plague. Just wondered if anyone here has any further information on the legitimacy of these adverts?
Many thanks,
Rob

Your instinct is correct. No-one is going to give you new windows for free.
Yes, there are certain government-backed schemes that genuinely can give assistance to those on low incomes or whatever for various energy-saving improvements. But you're right to treat 99% (OK, 100%) of Facebook ads with suspicion.
Simplest answer - check your local council website, see what funding is available for what. That'll give you the answer straight from the horse's mouth, and you can easily see if you qualify.

As above. If you are looking for funding. Then your local council is the place to start.

I will have a guess...
You ask for a quote for windows. They calculate that the windows will cost £5000. They quote you £10000, but they can obtain "funding" of £4000 towards the cost.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
More like the windows will cost £5000. They quote you £14000 but they can obtain 'funding' of £4000 towards the cost. ;)
