UKCPS Parking Charge - Trace Debt Recovery

Hi there

I've received the attached letter from Trace Debt Recovery, acting on behalf of UKPCS.

It relates to my wife's trip to a coffee shop to meet a client. She purchased several drinks while at the coffee shop and didn't leave for the entirety of the time while there. She has proof of her custom via several transactions on her bank statement.

She didn't see or know about exceeding a specified time of parking. The signs are tiny, plus it was night time and dark and the signs are not lit.

She has been trying to call the coffee shop for weeks to ask them to step in and cancel the parking charge, but they are not answering the phone and it's a bit of a trip to go in person.

She has said she'll go Court and provide proof of all of this, although she is disabled with a chronic illness and I'd rather just nip it in the bud through advice here, as stress can make her illness worse. The amount they are asking for is now £170.00.

The letter is addressed to me - as I am the owner of the vehicle.

Ignore them and wait for an LBC from Moorside Legal giving 30 days notice or a Money Claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL

Study the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum in the meantime, plus keep on trying to get it cancelled by the landowner or business, known as plan A

There's no nipping it in the bud, unless the landowner will cancel it.

Let it go to Moorside Legal, and a Claim Form which is when you defend (not the driver). Moorside never send anyone to hearings so cases are either discontinued, struck out or won by defendants.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As they have to utilise the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 to enforce liability against you, who was not the driver, please show us the original Notice to Keeper to check it's compliant for them to be able to do that.
