P&o upgraded cabin not wanted
I am due to sail in 2 days and p&o have just emailed an upgrade despite me ticking no upgrade when booking last year. They have moved me to a cabin that is not acceptable and are refusing to move me back saying I did not tick no upgrade , I triple checked I had so im being called a liar too. They raised a case number and told me to take it up on board! The cruise is fully booked as I rang sales team, the cabin they have moved me too is 3 from the front of the ship with a steel balcony so I cannot even see out without standing up, I suffer with sea sickness and would never in a million years book this cabin, I chose midship and no upgrade for this reason. Where do I stand in taking them to a small claims court for breach of contract on their side, this is causing me so much stress at an already stressful time in my life and has ruined a holiday I have no choice but to put up with now.

shame you can't swap with whoever has been given your cabin

Surely any such tickbox choice should be reflected one way or the other in the booking confirmation documentation, which should also link to explanatory Ts & Cs regarding the circumstances (if any) under which they'd have the right to relocate your booked cabin?

It would be nice if they did that, but it doesn't show up on your account or invoice. I had to email P&O and ask them to opt me out of possible upgrades - at no time was my chosen option visible to me.

I would have expected P&O to email an acknowledgement of your ‘no upgrade’ request. Did they do that?
If so, that’s the proof OP needs that the request was made. Though in my experience Cruise companies offer various options on request, such as table size 2/4/6 etc but will not guarantee.0 -
I got an email confirming the 'no upgrade' request, but that was because I opted-in, then later contacted them to opt-out.
Your original choice (opt-in or opt-out) is not shown on any invoice or other documentation. Neither was anything updated on my invoice or account to show that I had changed this option.
