Parking charge APCOA hassocks station
Hello,
Newbie here. I have read the threads but unsure what the course of action should be.
A Parking charge at Hassocks station was left stuck to the drivers side window for not paying for parking.
There is no evidence the driver paid but as the app was glitching & could not be logged in to they do not have ‘evidence’.
This is the parking charge attached.
unsure if due to wording on the ticket it can be appealed by the keeper of the vehicle?
Nothing has been received in the post and currently 16days since window ticket received.
Any help really appreciated.
thank you.

Welcome to the forum.
Wait for receipt of the Notice to Keeper (NtK) which should be received between 28 and 56 days after the parking event. You then check whether the NtK is PoFA compliant before deciding your next step.
Do some preparatory work by reading the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, post number ONE, and post number THREE.
The bottom line on this is that you won’t be paying APCOA a penny, they are probably the most benign of all the country’s private parking operators.

Or appeal on day 26 as per the advice in the NEWBIES FAQS thread (no link needed or given).
Either way, NO SAYING WHO WAS DRIVING because that's what wins.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you so much!
I will definitely do some more reading.1 -
APCOA seem to be one company who are consistent in issuing a NTK even when a windscreen ticket is appealed

As we see so few windscreen tickets these days, I completely overlooked the 26 day strategy. Must be getting old! 👴🏻

Although they claim that a Notice to Owner will be issued.

Good luck trying to find the owner!

Hello,
this has come through the post. They have dated it from the apparent window ticket not the date it was sent to the keepers address. Impossible considering they would have had to find the keepers address through the DVLA.They have removed the right to the lesser charge.
Driver attempted to pay but the actual system was not working.
I have read the newbie posts now so I guess I go down the not saying who the driver is in first instance? Any other tips on this greatly appreciated.
Thank you everyone.1 -
Why didn't the keeper appeal on day 26 as advised in the NEWBIES thread, and as I clearly advised above as the best tactic?
Is there no 'date sent' on that NTK?

Looking at the serial number it on the left hand side it looks like the letter was generated on 16 04 26.
Looks like yet another example of APCOA backdating letters. Though to what end, I'm not sure.
Even then, it's taken a long time for it to have made it's way through the postal system.
