Fixed rate before April drop
I am 1 year into a 2 year fixed rate with outfox energy and have just seen my April price drop on both gas and elec...as this april drop has nothing to do with the energy price cap will my new rates now be fixed for the remaining year even if the price cap goes up..?

The April drop on fixes is due to the well publicised changes to levies
Autumn Budget 2025: Energy bills to fall £150 from April 2026
Nothing to do with the price cap.

Yes, the reduction is from policy costs that have been moved to general taxation. The price cap is calculated on the actual wholesale costs of the previous quarter, so will almost certainly go up again at the next revision, owing to Trump's idiotic war.
