Not the only one that feels the quotes are crazy then 😂 It is quite surprising, mine is about 2 miles away and I have 1 appliance, a sofa and a desk, mattress, bed (collapsed) and that is the extend of the big items.

I wish I had any upper body strength, I’d never make it haha and also I’ve got to spend first few days cleaning and decorating so thought I’d save my strength 😂

    Hiya,

Been hectic week and lots of drama.

Let’s start with the good news first, we finally exchanged yesterday yay 🥳 only 2 weeks later than expected but we are definitely moving on May 1st yay

Now onto the drama… I’ve been a victim of fraud for the first time ever.

The payment I made to the removal company wasn’t them, it was scammers… it came from their legitimate business email address which had been hacked…

And this is where the drama starts…

When they let me know they offered to do the move in good will anyway and I accepted as it was due to them being hacked this happened…

Then they spent a week trying to go back on this a bit/clearly regretting they had offered.

Rang them to confirm exchange had happened and they got all shady and said they couldn’t do that date anymore….

I was obviously fuming but have managed to arrange something else last minute.

Then I get a message really late at night from the bad removals company to say they want to reimburse me what I made the fraudsters (they’d offered that a few times and always changed their mind) but this time they paid it, I’m guessing they had spoken to people who said that if I wrote a review they’d probably lose out more.., and believe me I was planning to annihilate them on social media and report them for data loss as it’s an even longer story than what I’ve summarised here of how awful they’ve been.

So I have now got my money back at least and the new removals people quote was a lot cheaper.

So alls well that ends well but yeh it’s been fun.

I’ve moved a couple of times now and this has been the one with the most problems… for instance for first time ever a few weeks back had our buyers just randomly ask for money off and had to give them a bit off just to keep things moving and not lose them in the current climate.

It’s all been awful if I’m honest, and not even because of the divorce going on, it’s just been crazy in every way.

But we’ve exchanged. And I got my money back from the fraud.

I'm not sure what else to say, other than phew 😅 And send hugs. Not long now, and you will be in your cosy new home and never need to move again 🩷

@South_coast thank you so much, the relief I feel now everything is exchanged and sorted is huge.

I’m indeed hoping to not ever move, it’s a generously sized place and it needs a lot of work but I’ve had this really good feeling about it from the moment I saw it.

It’s even got room at the side if I ever needed to extend, think I’d rather do that than move 😂😂

Omg you poor thing that's the last thing you need in all the stress of a normal move never mind everything else you've got going on. I had the cheeky ask of money off on our last move too and it was so tight for us we literally had no spare money and I spent a whole week crying. Awful. And I think seriously rude to ask that so late into the process. We ended up doing half the jobs they demanded as to why they wanted money off and negotiating...but this should happen earlier in the process and it really was super stressful and upsetting.

I hope the move all goes super smoothly now and that's all the drama done 🫂❤️.

    Thank you all :)

Sorry for late response, it got very very busy with the move. I’m all settled in but I’ve done a lot and I’ve decorated my child’s room (he loves it)

BT obviously messed up setting my internet up but I finally have been sent one of those temporary mobile hubs for now.

I can’t wait to do a full post once my brain is a bit more settled, on finances.

I feel like I haven’t stopped the last few weeks and have had to spend a lot!! Some planned and some unplanned but that’s typical with a new place I guess.

I absolutely love it here and I’m really really happy
