Buying discounted gift cards with credit card

Does buying the gift card itself grant any kind of discount or is all the value from Topcashback (or Quidco) cashback?
That's a rather convoluted way of spending money (buy a Lifestyle gift card that has to be converted into a store gift card 24 hours before you can use it and then hope your cashback tracks OK and you get your money some time later).
For the sake of a quid on a £100 spend I'd rather use everup while I'm in Sainsburys just before checkout for an immediate discount.

I use everup but the discounts vary all the time. I don't have a problem with Lifestyle. I buy my card in advance. If you want a guaranteed 5% buy a Sainsbury's Christmas Club Card and top up before the beginning of November.

Remember that if buying something over £100 & under £30K on gift card paid via CC. You have lost any chance of a S75 claim & chargeback.
As you paid for & received a gift card.

Not necessarily.
Say I want to buy a "thing" from Curry's for £308. I buy the discounted gift cards for the majority (£300) and then pay the balance (£8) on the credit card.

True for S75, in that case.

4% for normal members, at least for me
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
