Tariff change

Hey love you input. I am with Octopus and opted to change from my fix tariff which ends Aug 5th 26, for a 10month fix with exit charges till end of Jan 27. It was a ove the price cap . Still within my 14day cooling off period, meaning I can return to my previous tariff fix, which means a saving of £54. Don't what to do? Expect lots are in the same boat. Low energy users 1900 elec and 2200 gas , standing charges count to us. Thank you👍

Exactly which 10m fix did you take, was it v1,v2,or v3?

If you are looking to switch, I'd look for a 12 month fix instead, plus Octopus are expensive these days compared to others. You really don't want to be renewing your tariff again in the depths of winter. I notice you have a very low gas usage, so you really need to crunch the numbers to see which option is the best.

Thank you for your input. Yes the standing charge is the killer for us. We have an EV but only do 3000mls a year. I have taken a 10month fix with Octopus but it is about 10% above the price cap, so am losing currently as standing charge is higher than my previous fix. I can change back until 02 April. The old fix is till August, maybe things will quieten down.

    Thanks

    They have been changing fast.

If you check the tariff change email they would have sent it should be listed there, also on the web version of your account page…
