SLC Plan 5. Proving Sporadic travel income difficulties.

My son is currently on a travel work visa in Australia. He's due (& late to get it sorted 🙄) to begin repayments this April & is happy to make his income declaration. His income is sporadic and he doesn't have three months concurrent payslips to prove his income & the SLE site doesn't seem to provide a solution. Any guidance greatly appreciated.

He needs to provide whatever income proof he has and to pay based on that. Any differences can be sorted out retrospectively. If his income is above the limit for Australia, he’d be better off not declaring and paying the set maximum.

Thanks Silvercar .. His Australia income is well below the threshold but the system is asking for his last three payslips .. they are one from last month and two from May/June '25. He was farm working doing in excess of 80 hrs per week so the paycheques are healthy . . he's concerned that these will be added and averaged over the 12 months, meaning a significant annual income on which he'll be assessed. Do you know if this will happen, or will they take the dates on the payslips into account and average accordingly? TIA.

I’d give the one from last month with a note that there is no other payslip in recent months. Also provide a calculation of what he should be paying based on the UK financial year.
