Hi everyone,
dp1, well done on successfully getting them in the same home although it's annoying that common sense couldn't have prevailed earlier. At least you'll be able to go away without that worry hanging over you.
Steve has gone over to work on the stables, his enthusiasm has been rekindled after working on them with Chris so hopefully they will get done sooner rather than later.
We're going up to Yorkshire next week and will hopefully set things in motion for selling the house.
I'm planning to do some sewing today, a little family of mice in a sleeping bag for Esther. I really want to get back into it but I just need to organise everything that got put away in the loft when the family moved in.
Have a good day.

Morning All
Later from me today, slept to the alarm and couldn't wake up - still not sure I'm fully awake but at least I'm at work!
Set off early yesterday morning to get fuel, do a bit of shopping and have breakfast out. Bought a new toilet seat that took longer than it should have to fit but it seems to be working ok but a slower closing toilet seat I've never seen!
So pleased your parents are settled in to their new place dp1, you worked so hard to make it happen, congrats to you. Hope you can enjoy your holiday knowing they are both safe.
It's sunny here at the moment but could rain at any time.
Wishing you all well, take care. XX

Morning all, thanks @Gers. Yesterday we seemed to have more sun than rain but when the rain did arrive it was heavy downpours, especially last night. Today is set to be much the same; I hope next month will see an improvement 'cos I'm fed up of feeling cold! 😕 It's nice to have a later sunset though and my curtains didn't get closed until just after 7pm.
The only useful thing I did yesterday was to finish off my budget spreadsheet for the upcoming new financial year. I've kept a record of everything I've spent over the last 12 months and, whilst I didn't overspend, the food budget will definitely have to be upped to keep pace with rising prices. There'll be a little extra coming in to help with that but I'm not impressed with how much extra tax I'll be paying. 😥 That said, I've just ordered a new coat, a windproof umbrella and a couple of storage bags for duvets but that will have to be my last splurge for quite some time. After that, I did some reading and cross stitch.
Back to routine today and planning for the week ahead. DS has gone for an interview for a job so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. Tonight will be a quick and easy meal of ham & mushroom pasta followed by an early bedtime to make up for the 'lost' hour.
@Chrisca - Glad to hear your TV is up and running again. 👍️
@Scarlet - Keep that kitchen finishing line in sight - it will all be worth it!
@Izzy - I can't have a water meter installed; instead I'm on an assessed bill that reduces the full charge by a fair bit but I still think a water meter would be even cheaper for me. I hope your son can source a barrel for the rainwater - nothing worse than droopy plants! 😁
@dp1 - You definitely deserve a break, enjoy.
Have a good start to the new week all, take care. X

Good afternoon
Still breezy here, although the showers we had this morning have stopped.
I had a talk with DH this morning. He's not happy as he had planned what he wants to do over Easter, until I reminded him that I have my cataract surgery on Thursday so will be taking it easy for a few days. Why do I feel so guilty putting myself first?
Liver and onions for me tonight, steak pie for him.
Have a good day all, take care.
