Morning Gers, morning all
Woke to a dark morning after the clocks went forward yesterday. Bright now though
No TV engineer coming this morning as chap who I spoke to last week rang to tell me about a reduction in price that I'd asked for and he talked me through a few more things and low and behold we have a working TV now!
Bedding to hang out, ironing to do and making some fairy cakes that I'll freeze and decorate at the weekend for Easter.
Nothing else planned so I'll wish everyone a good day xx

Morning folks and thanks GERS. We had the torrential rain last night that you'd had the night before. Fortunately it had eased off by bedtime and there is now brightness and sun emerging from the gloom.
Another day of same old same old here. Plenty of chicken, baby spuds and veg left over from yesterday so no real cooking today, just a warm up of veg in the microwave and the spuds crisped up in the airfryer. .
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely and a shout out to our MIA. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
A work day for us both today. There are temporary roadworks in every direction out of our village so will need to leave extra time for travel. Dinner is beef stroganoff tonight - nice and easy.
Good news about the TV @Chrisca50
Have a good day everyone

Good morning,thanks Gers.
Its a sunny start here, better than yesterday which was grey, cold and windy.
Pleased you've got the tv going Chrisca.
Not a lot going on here, we 'll finish the kitchen (I'm sick of hearing myself on about it) after a blip about the paint colour. That's the main event today.
I'm tired after a bad night but I'll be ok once I get moving.
Hope everyone is ok, take care folks

morning everyone thanks for the start Gers it’s a really chilly one I’m off out to meet my friend for a coffee and a catch up otherwise not a lot happening I need to go through the freezers when I come back and sort some meals out for this week I am managing to get a little bit of room but still a long way to go I need the one in the garage empty so I can clean it out and turn it off for the summer ready to fill up again for the winter and save a bit of electricity. I sat down yesterday and tried to sort out bills for the coming year and had a few sharp words with hubby I ended up signing up for a water meter if used properly it should save me a little bit of money my son thinks he might be able to get me a barrel off someone at work I haven’t got plastic down pipes they are metal so I just want a barrel to catch some rainwater for my pots I need to have a read up on stuff that might be my afternoon. DP1 I was happy to read your news I’m sure they will settle down soon it has been a lot off worry for you but they are together now and you have done your best in difficult circumstances you need to stop and breathe now . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning again - after another awful night of rain and wind the outside looks like butter wouldn't melt! There's brightness behind the scattered clouds, not that I'm fooled by it.
Last night my bedroom TV didn't have a signal, the cables to the Freesat dish get rattled by the wind. The downstairs ones had attention a couple of weeks ago so perhaps these need tightened. I managed well enough on the iPad and will check later today. The other one upstairs is fine too so it's not the dish. The position of it means that it takes the full force of wind and battering rain.
I gave up on the well OOD lasagna and had mashed eggs on toast instead. I've taken a mac 'n' cheese out of the freezer for today. There's some last minute tweaking of my various spreadsheets to sort out 😂 as well as the weekly banking one to do.
Shortly I'm off up to the big town for an appointment with the woman who does electrolysis, I was meant to be there for 9.00a.m. but she texted much earlier to say that her first ferry wasn't operating so to come later - suits me.
Good news about your sink @Chrisca50.
Fingers crossed for your kitchen @ScarletRibbons and for getting a barrel @IzzyBee. Fab that you have more work @Coxy11. Hope that the rain holds off @TravellingAbuela.
Must awa' - take care all. Hugs.

Morning all, thanks Gers- glad the family got to Aus in the end, they must have been weary with the delays.
DP1, so glad your parents are together now, well done for fighting their cause.
It's another grim start to the day, windy and rain/hailstones.The wind last night was ferocious. The people who have the little roundabouts etc. in the park started reopening and bringing them onto their pitch during last week ready to open for the Easter hols. They clear all the equipment off during winter but I can't see them getting much custom today! Our dgc schools don't finish their term until Thursday but some have finished now.
I got a beef joint out yesterday and popped it in the slow cooker, and had with the usual trimmings. I made an apple crumble for after with the last of the chopped up apples from our friends tree, but once cooked there wasn't enough so I rummaged in the bottom of the chest freezer and found some blackberries I'd picked in autumn and added those, very tasty and money saving. I spent a good part of the afternoon on the phone to my cousin for an update on our eldest cousin who had been in hospital after a fall. As soon as I put it down it rang again, my old neighbour telling me about a bungalow they are viewing today. She & her disabled son live in a ground floor flat atm, it's really small and they struggle to find space with the wheelchair etc. so I hope they like it.
Well I'd like to say I'm off out with the dog for a walk but he took 1 look outside when I wanted to let him out earlier and turned right round and jumped back on the sofa. Don't blame him really 😉Take care all.

Morning everyone
Thank you all so much for the good wishes regarding mam and dad. I was down yesterday afternoon and brightened mams' room up with some ornaments and bits, then I sat and put name stickers on all her clothes. She keeps telling dad she'll take him home, which is annoying him as he knows he can't go home, well neither of them can. Hopefully she'll start to feel more settled with some of her own things around her.
I've just realised it's Monday so I can say I'm going on holiday next week! I've never needed one as much as I do right now and I can go knowing mam and dad are both safe.
It's still very windy here, I have washing out blowing wildly.
I hope everyone has a good day x
