I'd say 99% of successful 'tubers have an engaging personality rather than just producing 'useful' DIY/how-to videos.

I agree, a lot never even say "Like & subscribe etc" but get thousands of views just by what appears to be effortless chatting into a lens, I'm sure it's harder than it appears but the honesty does come over, and no sponsors either, just whatever clicks YT pays for
