Morning, thanks Gers.
It's raining here, but doesn't seem cold. There's nothing much planned for today but the usual chores, and I'm visiting a friend this eveming.
I am thinking about painting the kitchen, In fact I've been thinking about it for weeks, it's time I got off my arris and actually did it! What with wall units, tiies, and doorways there's not loads of blank wall, it's fiddly more than anything. I won't do it today though, but I will buy some paint.
Hope everyone is all right and has a good day. Thoughts to the sad and poorly. Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's raining here too and, unlike where SCARLET is, it feels cold. My old bones feel it more and more these days!
The usual Friday Tidy to do here. When it warms up a bit I really must start a Spring clean. My younger self would be disgusted at how lax I have become!
Middle DGD's holiday to Thailand over Easter has officially been cancelled, sigh of relief from me and DD. The reason for going was for the wedding of her DF's aunt, who lives in Oz and was planning the ceremony mid way between there and here. Lots of friends and family were going from here. Everybody making their own plans going different flights, hotels etc in readiness for meeting up. The ones flying via Doha were cancelled yesterday, whilst those going via Singapore still (up to now) flying. The bride's mother was amongst those cancelled . She was mortified and has rebooked via Singapore and made a new hotel booking. At significant extra cost!! What a debacle it all is.
Whilst I have been waffling on it seems to have stopped raining - for now anyway! Have a lovely day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for all in need or want of them. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but feels very cold, we are off for our weekend away later, we leave here between 11 & 12 and go and collect mum and be off, it’s going to take just over 2 hours and we will stop to let the dogs stretch their legs on the way, we are going to buy breakfast things once we get closer, but for dinners we will be eating out, one night we will have fish and chips which is mums favourite and there is a pub locally for another night and potentially a Chinese takeaway, we were going to take meals with us but I really don’t want to spend my time cooking so we will treat ourselves.
I have to finish packing this morning and have a shower, I need to water the plants and make sure the birds have food and water and then we will be off.
Have good days all and take care xx

Raining here but forecast to end mid morning. Hope so as I want to do some washing.
Nothing else planned except the usual chores. I'm trying to keep on top of them as my cataract surgery is next week, and I'm not a good patient if DH let's things slip, as he will do.
Chicken kievs, chips (new potatoes), salad and coleslaw tonight.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
I’m off to Margate on the train today. Will have a mooch around, pop to Boots to recycle some bits and have a browse in the shops. We are out tomorrow night so if I see anything suitable I’ll grab it.
DH’s birthday today and he had to be at work for 8am but hopefully an early finish. The children and DDIL are here for a takeaway and we’ll go to the village pub after.
Safe journey @RedRuby1231 and enjoy your time in Kent (give us a wave!)My flights to/from Cyprus have changed for June/July (I’m chaperoning my Dad) Now coming back at a ridiculous time but it was the only flight offered that day. DH will need to drink a lot of coffee!

Morning again - the heavy overnight rain seems to have drifted off elsewhere and the sky is a very weak and pale blue.
The chap arrived on time yesterday. He strimmed the edges, cut the grass and did the blower thing. All very efficient and quick. Happy Gers! Then my day just seemed to roll into slothfulness, it was just too cold to outside and I didn't need anything doing.
My nephew and family are heading off to Brisbane this morning. First their flight from Dubai to Brisbane was re-routed via Perth and only this morning it was changed again. Now it's Dubai to Sydney and then onto Brisbane. All this change is causing havoc with the car hire company. I understand your relief @TravellingAbuela, the whole area is so unstable. I can't worry too much as it would drive me crazy. As long as they all get to Brisbane for now, if they get stuck there then at least they'll be with family.
Have a great weekend @RedRuby1231, it sounds really lovely.
Happy Birthday @Coxy11's DH - have cake and fizz. BTW - your comment about pencils yesterday caused me another mind zoom back to my primary school years when I always got a set of personalised pencils from 'Santa'. My name is also very different so no hope of off the peg ones. If they came in a new pencil case (wooden, two tier swivelling top) then I was the happiest child on Christmas Day. 😀
Send the workman back up that loft @newroadahead, lucky that you spotted it.
Rest up @remmie, take the chance to be looked after.
There's always something around to distract you from housework @Suffolksue, another joy of life!
Kitchen planning always takes so long @ScarletRibbons.
Hope that the rain holds off for you @silver-oldie.
How's that cold @camelot1001?
I've more liver and onions for today, it was so tasty yesterday as I added a splash of Marsala and a dribble of cream. Decided against baked beans in favour of green peas a long internal debate. 😅
Take care all - missing our missings. Hugs to all.
