How long to give company to make good
We had a new composite/upvc front door beginning of March 2026. It was a AM installation. That afternoon I noticed an issue, and again the next day with the quality, fitment, finishing, etc and wrote a letter escalating it.
Following conversations, they provided a site visit 11th March to see for themselves and agreed things needed to be replaced, after chasing them (I also said I wanted it sorted by the end of March) they attended site on the 24th March and advised the door needs replacing because their cannot remove the marks. I'm waiting a follow up email and again I'm expecting to chase them for a status update.
I want to keep it amicable but I have the once bitten twice shy feeling and I'd appreciate any guidance on handling it to the point of 'rejecting' under the 2015 consumer rights act, should I feel I've had enough.
Thanks

Make sure to document every contact. If you called, follow up with an email summary of what was said.
It sounds like they're working on it and admitted faults. So I would wait on that. I think you have 120days if you paid with a debit to raise the matter with your bank if you couldn't reach a resolution. Not sure if there's a timeframe if you paid with a credit card.

Timescales will depend on whether the door was available from stock or if either it or the surround had to be made to order.
