Morning Gers and all to follow
Looks to be a nice day here, yesterday turned colder and colder I took O out for Lunch and as I was getting him back into the van we had hail stones and sleet, it was so cold I was glad to get in the van and home in the warm.
The painter has all but finished he is coming back for an hour today to just put a second coat on a door and a few other bits he couldn’t do due to the paint being wet, he put the cupboard back on the wall yesterday so I’ve started to put a few bits back in will do some more later.
After work today dd and I are going to look at a house for her, it’s a shared ownership one which is the only way she can afford to buy on her own, but it looks nice with two bedrooms and a garden for the dog, she needs to see a mortgage person so see if the can afford it but fingers crossed 🤞 she can.
Dinner tonight will be macaroni cheese with salad, dd made it yesterday so it will just need heating through later, I also need to pack a few things for going away tomorrow.
Will try and get O out for a walk today, he will have to wrap up warm though.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope you have as good a sunrise as we have although it's very cold and frosty and rain is due later (again!).
We had hail and sleet yesterday too Ruby, glad you got your walk and lunch before it got horrid. Fingers crossed for your DD.
Still struggling on here but feel a bit better this morning. I did go and meet friends yesterday but went straight to bed when I got home. I've emptied yesterday's lunch bag this morning, just couldn't do it yesterday. A white wash has been done this morning and is on the rack, will finish drying it tonight when I put the fire on.
Lovely broaches Mehefin, what a lovely thought.
Wishing you all well, have a good day. Take care. XX

Morning all
Looking brighter this morning and wind has gone down a bit. We also had a sleet shower yesterday. Mad weather.
Might get out and plant some seeds after a bit of hoovering but apart from that nothing planned
Nice idea about the brooches @mehefin lovely keepsake.
Have a good day all x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. A beautiful start here with wall to wall blue sky and sunshine. But there is a thick frost so it will feel blooming cold out. Yesterday was better than forecast. We only got a few light showers but the gusty wind was blowing most of the day and it felt really cold.
A day of same old same old here. Usual Thursday job of cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. If I cba afterwards I want to have a quick trip down into town for a few bits and I have 2 things to post. We lost our PO up here quite a few years ago and the times for emptying the post box are very sporadic.
I sort of finished the wardrobe prune yesterday but I need to have another go and be very ruthless as I still have far too much stuff. The admin sort out got done and lots of stuff got shredded.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need/want of them. CAMELOT I hope you soon feel better. Good luck to your DD RUBY with the house viewing. MEHEFIN the surprise champagne sounds a good idea and how nice to pass on Dawn's broach to your future DIL. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning again - yes, @camelot1001 there was a beautiful sunrise though the sky is now white. Earlier on the temperature was 0c so chilly too.
As it turned out I had another portion of the chicken sweetcorn mix in the fridge so added in an avocado which was just about to go soggy. That means I can look forward to liver and onions today. Idaho potatoes and bean will make it perfect.
Yesterday I was full of good intentions which never saw more than the inside of my mind. Well, I didn't do any shopping so curbed that intention.
My router needed to be rebooted this morning, that got me out of my bed sharpish. The grass cutting chap is coming at about 9.00'ish, it won't take him long to whizz round my postage stamp lawn.
Someone on the radio just mentioned about children going on a school trip today and I was instantly taken back to my own school trips. Double decker bus - two classes of excited children, packet of sandwiches and a drink, and lots of singing 'the bottom of the bus they cannae sing' with those on the bottom singing 'the top of the bus they cannae sing'. Then onto the beach. Happy sunny days.
Anyway, enough nostalgia, back to the chill. I hope that all is well, admin problems solved and health improving for all. xx

Good morning
I didn't get on here yesterday. The day started with a phone call I've been putting off for a while. Don't know why as it was easy and all is sorted out now. Then I went shopping and topped up the fuel tank. Petrol has gone up 20p a litre since last time. I told DH we will have to be more careful about using the car.
The weather was horrendous, hail and sleet the same as others had. On the way home a tree branch crashed onto the roof of the car. Very noisy and frightening, but thankfully no damage done. Today has started bright and sunny, what a difference.
No idea what to have for tea, but stocks have been topped up so plenty to choose from.
Now to go and read back on yesterday's news, so I hope everyone is keeping well. Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers My memories of school trips included having pocket money to spend in the gift shop and never being able to buy a pencil etc with my name on as it’s spelt unusually. It’s the little things!! Goodness knows how children get on nowadays!
We had the gusty wind, rain and hailstones yesterday too but luckily it cleared up and I managed to walk to the PO, library and Co-op without looking like the Wreck of the Hesperus .
I have a routine eye test this morning then it’s yoga tonight.
Glad you got out with O yesterday @RedRuby1231 and good luck to your DD. PM me if she needs a broker as I work with one and she’s lovely xHope you feel better soon @camelot1001 x
Have a good day all

Morning all from Mehefinland
The stories reminds me of a story that my late Mum used to tell of me as a little boy. Apparently I came home very disgruntled from a school trip - we didn't go to Ogmore by Sea …. we went by bus!! I can't say I remember it, but Mum told the tale a few times over the years so i suppose there is some truth in it.
Another chilly day here with a struggling sun - perhaps it will the battle later, although the wind has dropped significantly so it does seem a little warmer than the biting cod of yesterday.
Glad you all like the pics of the brooches - toook me ages to get them on the site last night…thinkI need a teenager lol.
Not much else happening so I will buzz off. Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning all, what a change in the weather this morning, beautiful blue skies, cars look frozen though. A quiet day yesterday with no pickup from school, although I had a call to ask if I'd get DGS football boots from his DM house and take them to DS2s, we got them to be told later that his match was off.Not surprising, it hardly stopped hailing all day. We took the dog out in the afternoon when there seemed to be a bright spell- Wrong ! It started again half way round the park, stung our faces.
I made a stir fry with some chinese flavoured pork steaks for tea. That's about all from me, nothing much happening so I'll wish you all a good day.

@RedRuby1231 I live in a shared ownership house, and would recommend that your DD asks about the rent & service charge - how much the rent can go up should be in the lease (Mine is a HA and goes up by CPI+1% each April) and exactly what is included in the service charge (often buildings insurance, leaseholder fee & possibly grounds maintenance).
It's a good way to get on the ladder, especially if she can buy more (staircase) as she goes on. Hope it all works out!
