Council tax benefit
Hi, a quick question regarding CTB.
I've just quit my job without another one to go to (various reasons for this, I won't bore you with the details).
I know I won't be eligible for UC for this reason. Fortunately I own my home outright so housing costs are not an issue. My question is would I still be able to claim CTB? I have some savings to last me a few months but will have literally zero income until I find another job.

I think you would be once you hit the low income / savings threshold. Council tax don’t look at the reasons why you might have left employment and now be eligible for a claim.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
I agree, there reason doesn't matter.
Let's Be Careful Out There1 -
It's now called Council Tax support when checking your local authority's website

Or 'council tax reduction'. That's the point - there IS no national scheme now, so councils can and do call it what they want.
