Travel insurance claim for lost trip days, but no material loss

Dear all,

My wife and I were scheduled to travel by car from the UK to the EU, but on the day of the planned trip the car had a mechanical breakdown, which meant we had to abort the travel on that date. I know we can claim for the additional cost of re-booking the ferry for a new date. The question is, can we claim for those 'lost trip days', if that makes sense? We stay in a friend's house, so there are no 'paid for' days we weren't able to take - it's just the fact that we will have missed on 3-4 days of the trip. I've looked online and such things as 'experiential loss' and 'loss of enjoyment' come up, but I can't really find anything definitive (travel policy doc also doesn't really help clarify the issues).

Thanks in advance.
