Notice of debt Recovery from DCB Ltd - please help

Dear All,

I'm new on here and have gone through the newbie thread on parking fines but still at lost of what to do as really confused !

Basically, I'm in England. I parked my car in the ALDI carpark , Euro car Parks Ltd (in the electric parking bay) and charged my electric car for a few hours and left it there for a bit too long (unfortunately didn't realise that there is a time limit). This was in Feb 2024. We then had a nasty RTA in May 2024 and the car was written off.

We did move home in May 2023, I updated my address on Driving license but didn't think of changing it on the V5 ! So, seems like the euro carpark penalties probably did go to my old address but I did not know of it at all as I never got any letter forwards from my old address. Today, suddenly I got this letter to my current address (see attached) from DCBL demanding £170 !

What should I do ?

I see that in the threads suggested that I could appeal to the EuroCarpark, but Do I have any legs to stand on - given that I forgot to update my V5 address when I moved homes in May 2023 ? What should I actually say to the EuroCarpark ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm glad I looked in here first , as I was going to pay !

ps/ some threads suggested NEVER to ring the DCBL - why is this ? I have to confess - when I received the notice from DCBL this week, I did panic and called them to find out what this is as I didn't think any claim would come back to bite my backside after 2 years ! I asked if I can appeal and they said NO. I then terminated the call and came to MSE forum to check if anyone had same experience.

There were NO FINES and NO Penalties either, just invoices from a private parking company, ECP

Much too late to appeal to ECP or anyone else

    Do not pay !

Never phone anyone, especially dont phone powerless debt collectors like DCBL ( not worth it )

    IGNORE DCBL

Wait for DCB LEGAL sending you a Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice in the post

But do confirm your correct address using their app

"have gone through the newbie thread"

But that letter is already in the pictures in post 4 of the NEWBIES thread.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
