Hi all, first time poster, I wanted some advice on whether i should revert back to my deal ending 5th November (still in cooling off period) or stick to the new more expensive deal but gives me another 4 months of breathing room with the current crisis.

Original deal which ends 05/11/2026 (if I revert back to it)

Current deal which would end 15/03/2027:

What do you think?

    Itll depend enitrely on consumption.

What's your average day/night electricity usage over the summer, and over the winter?

Yea I did think that would be the case. I only have data from November as my octopus data from before I switched is no longer on the app.

Nov 525 kwh. Average 16.93p per kw

    Dec 743kwh. Average. 11.32p

    Jan 705 kwh Average 10.31p

    Feb 535 kwh average 9.81p

March till 23rd 464kwh. Bill not available yet but looking at around 14p currently

As you can see I've gotten much better using the smart charging feature.

Cannot see night and day consumption on eon app

I do pretty much all (95%) of my dishwashing and washer/tumble dryer on the night rate.

All of ev is night rate

cooking mainly on day rate 80%.

Usually also end up with the night rate for most of the weekend too with the smart charging.

Youre currently saving approx £10-12 per month if you stick with the old deal, so by November you would have saved £70-85. From November to March 2026 it's hard to say what will happen but rates will almost certainly be higher unless there's a very sudden de-escalation in the middle east in the very near future.

If your rates went up to around 11p/33.5p you'd break even. If they are lower you'll be ahead, if they are higher you will lose out.

For each 1p above those rates you will be paying an extra £5 per month.

This assumes the standing fee stays at 60p.

Their newest version 6.2 is already around 3p more expensive so unless that drops it does look like sticking with what I've got may work out better over them 4 months. Especially as we haven't felt any of the longer term effects of the problems in the middle East as yet. Appreciate your input, helps me cement what I thought.
