Tesla lease deal issues

Tesla owns the customer experience - so service is booked with the app and our neighbours have had minor niggles resolved on the drive within a couple of days. Absolutely everything has to be booked through the app though, so I think if you're the sort of person that needs to talk to another human to get things done then it'll seem like really terrible customer service.

For everyone else of course it's mostly a franchise relationship - where the 'main dealer' is only representing the brand - but it's a well trodden path. There is obviously a warm and friendly feeling that people get from being told by another human that their concerns are being taken very seriously but "we are very busy right now and the Christmas after next is the very earliest we can take a look at the car".

I don't think that is what happened - at least a one-sided view.

The OP placed an order for a car with a price deal based upon taking delivery in March. That was scheduled for 31st March.

The OP declined that date and arranged the car for 3rd April. Missing the March date means the terms of the price deal is no longer valid.

Tesla still need to sell that car in March to achieve their internal (and externally visible) sales / registration targets. Someone else agreed to buy at the March discount prices and take delivery in March.

The OP then changed their mind and decided they could collect in March after all. Do Tesla have remaining stock vehicles available for March? Can the OP cancel this order and start afresh on the website?

    Hello,

    First time car leaser here.

I picked up my car yesterday, with a down payment of 12 months and a monthly payment of £275. I’ve just checked and the exact same car, same deal etc. is now £207 a month. That’s quite a big difference monthly (and then obviously on the down payment).

Is there anything I can do other then send the car back during the 14 day grace and re-apply for another lease? It’s working out at being nearly £2500 cheaper over the 2 years so even though it’s a faff, it would beneficial.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I make it an absolute rule - whatever I buy - I never, ever check the price after I’ve made the purchase to avoid disappointment and big helpings of buyer’s remorse…

Feel free to cancel, I can almost guarantee they won’t offer you a second car at the lower price because you already cancelled the first 😅

I only checked because I was being pressured to pick up the car before the 1st April and was told it could go up in price, so out of curiosity I looked to see if I did the right thing (which I obviously didn’t).

Surely there’s nothing stopping me getting out a new lease and then cancelling the original?

I ordered the car through Tesla and the lease is with Lex Autolease so I’m not sure who would be best to contact. I’ve not paid anything yet as the first payment (the down payment) isn’t due yet.

If you have a right to return then everything is negotiable… (if you’re prepared to walk away)

You could, but then find that it has gone up to more than your are paying now.

Tesla had a special offer on lease, if picked up before 01-04-26 (another thread)

Absolutely right. Bad enough when you spot an £8 jar of coffee for £6 elsewhere, be horrendous on a £40k motor.

But it's not 24 hours later it is from when you placed the order.

After Easter it will be a new tax year.

I doubt you can reset this deal.
