Told to repay old tax credits?

Hi all,

I am new here so apologies if this has been asked - I did have a read through first. I've had letters from the DWP Debt recovery team telling me I owed money from overpaid UC and overpaid tax credits. I was able to find out more info about the UC overpayment, challenge it and they cancelled that one. The Tax Credit one is proving more complicated. I have no documentation relating to these overpayments and the DWP tell me to contact HMRC as they have no details, and HMRC tell me to contact DWP as these benefits were replaced by UC so it's nothing to do with them anymore. I am trying to find out what this overpayment relates to and why I was overpaid, and secondly, why wasn't this reclaimed from my UC? Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.
