Work car park - Civil Enforcements

My other thread has got to mediation call complete stage. However got a brand new one on my hands now :(

Just got 2 NTK from my work car park. I bought a new car and didn't put the reg in the ipad due to waiting to swop my private reg across. tottally forgot. In that time I got 2 'invoices'.

From Civil Enforcements

Land owner wont help but said to appeal, with reasoning.

Is it worth completing the CE online appeal to try my luck, or follow same procedure as before no contact Newbies post

If you do appeal, it will be rejected, so bear that in mind

The chances of a cancellation are low, reasoning never works

Whats the relationship to work and the car park?

is this car park part of your workplace?

land owner is the office block, we rent an office. They employ an outside contractor with ANPR to monitor car park. Owner said used to get 10 passes a month to void 'fines', but passes then removed as they were doing loads every month.

seems a waste of my time to appeal then on ground of a mix up. Thought I'd ask anyway

    thanks everyone.

starting to think i should ride around with a leaf accidently stuck to my plates :)

"Owner said used to get 10 passes a month to void 'fines', but passes then removed as they were doing loads every month."

Hmmm… Isn't that rather the point of the passes, to use them for genuine patrons, visitors & employees…!

The PPC is meant to be the agent of the landowner and yet they adjust their so-called 'client dashboards' to restrict the whitelists at these places and hope nobody makes any noise!

I have the above from the horse's mouth (direct from a parking operator) who admits to effectively making clients play musical chairs with whitelist numbers by further restricting them if they aren't making enough money from site employees & visitors.

I've shown that evidence to the MHCLG this month although lord knows how they can stop this. Maybe it's a 'misleading omission' (illegal under the DMCC Act 2024 as an unfair commercial practice) to pull the rug on genuine patron/employee cancellations but bottom line - why are retailers & landowners sleepwalking into this crap?!

    Kick up a massive fuss.

Why don't more landowners just sack the PPC when they refuse to whitelist genuine vehicles? The set up is a money-making scam based on bunging in the kit then moving the goalposts.

thanks. I did strongly voice my concerns, but she was adamant best action is just to appeal. The whole thing is such a scam.

I've even gone above her a called the area manager mobile but again not help. We contract out the parking.

utter rubbish and total scams. i agreed why have passes then remove them. its all just red tape to get more money. screw them, with your help im going to win all my cases by discontinuation and let them chase me.

ok do as she states, but also remind them that they are jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agents and this could/will include any and all costs (including for time) incurred as a result of them allowing an un regulated predatory parking company into their land, and that you are aware, as they should be that neither the IPC or the BPA are regulatory authorities, and that their associated appeals systems are not independent.

As this is a work issue you should be dealing with this at company time and expense and your company should then claim against the entity that allowed that parking company on their land

The more who complain about this the more likely it is they won't renew the contract. That's your aim. All driving employees in that building should be up in arms.
