Unfair Parking Fine
I received a Parking Fine on 16th February, 2026. I entered the car park of Holiday Inn, Minster, Ramsgate at 10.11.35 am to collect my disabled son who had travelled down from Lincoln, with his wife and daughter, the previous day to stay at the hotel. The purpose of my son's visit was to visit me as I hadn’t seen him since his life-saving heart surgery, in June 2024, which incurred complications. Since his operation, my son has been unable to drive long distances as he experiences periods of lightheadedness, dizzy spells, double vision and occasional temporary memory loss, due to the amount of time he was under anaesthesia because of an induced coma. The time parked at the hotel was to get instructions as to his medication and dietary needs as well as transferring his clothes and medication and for him to walk, unsteadily with a walking stick, to my car, after which we left at 10.36.32 am and his wife and daughter started on their return journey to Lincoln. A total time in the car park of 24 minutes. I sent the above information, together with a letter from my son, explaining his disability. I received a letter dated 17th March from G24, the company in charge of parking at the hotel, asking for further details. As per their request I went back to Holiday Inn to ask for evidence of my son's stay which they gave me willingly. I sent the copy of the invoice as evidence of my son's hotel booking, which I paid for as shown on the invoice, on 19th March. Today 23rd March, I received a letter from them saying that my appeal had been rejected. I feel that this judgement is very harsh. As explained in my original letter, I was not a guest, I was there to collect my invalid son. In G24's recent letter they have said that I can appeal to The Independent Appeals Service, but I note that you say they very rarely change the verdict. Do you think I have sufficient evidence to pursue my appeal.

Ignore them
Ideally get the hotel to cancel it, plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum, plus, complain about it to your local MP too
I suspect that the driver should have registered the VRM at reception

Safely ignore them.
Ignore the £170 threatograms this year too.

Just a note; you never received a fine, private parking companies issue invoices not fines.
