Setting ChatGPT so I can speak to it

textbook

How do I set ChatGpt so I can speak to my phone or laptop or other device so I can ask it questions and even possibly get an oral response?

E.g. in kitchen ask it question about cooking and get an answer

elsien

Can’t help but think that the obvious answer would be to ask chatGPT?

Not sure about chatgpt but you can buy a Google or Alexa speaker that can stay in the kitchen and answer questions when asked.

What would Chat GPT offer in the scenario outlined that cannot be handled effectively by Siri or Google Assistant?

If you are talking about on an Android phone then under settings -general management - language and keyboard you need to enable Google voice typing

you will then see a microphone icon on your keyboard and can speak text input to chatgpt or indeed any other place where you could type eg whatapp, texts etc

or even simpler click the wave icon on chatgpt to speak and have replies spoken back.to.you

Yep, really easy these days 🙂

If you’ve got the ChatGPT app on your phone, just open it and tap the little mic/headphones icon – you can talk to it and it’ll reply out loud.

That’s probably the best way for what you’re describing (I use it like that sometimes when cooking).

I believe its the paid for version for that. Check put Claude, think that has it for free at moment but I could be wrong.
