Switching from octopus to eon
fixed until November with octopus 2025 v1 and thinking of switching to e on tracking 12m v11.
just worried about the war and prices changing the prices by going up. Apparently I’ll save £116 a year. Just wondering if people are in a similar situation of wanting to switch earlier than their current fixed term because of the worries. Also what’s people experiences with eon iv only used octopus
thanks

Eon uses the same Kraken platform as Octopus, so the online experience is similar. Not sure what their customer service is like, these days. I was with them for a while, when I bought this house, and later changed to Octopus. I had no problem as I could do everything online, so no hanging about on the phone selecting different options.

I'm not sure about switching at this current time, but I am interested how you worked out the @116 saving.

Hardly any difference electricity unit rate for my region between Eon 15 month fix and Eon Pledge Tracker.

fixed until November with octopus 2025 v1 and thinking of switching to e on tracking 12m v11.
In my region, Octopus 12M Fixed November 2025 v1 has electricity at 26.44p/kWh and 43.66p/day, and gas at 5.86p/kWh and 32.52p/day.
EON Next Pledge Tracker 12m v10 (they're not offering me v11) is electric at 23.13p/kWh and 49.70p/day, and gas at 5.50p/kWh and 28.56p/day. So at present it looks like it'll give you a saving.
However, "Pledge Tracker" isn't a fixed tariff and will follow the Ofgem cap up and down. It's widely expected to increase in July but it's too soon to say by howe much. You might find your saving vanishes in 3 1/2 months.
