Car insurance rising after each search

Any help in avoiding premium rising after each search. I like to search a few sites before making a decision but premiums rise and you can never get back to the lower quotes. Thanks

Use incognito mode in your browser (and a new instance for each search) and don't log into the comparison sites?

Do the sites retain the searches (using reg details)?

As you approach renewal date the price tends to increase. Just a few days ago, Compare the Market saved us around £100 compared to our car insurance renewal price. The "new" insurer is LV who are pretty good when it comes to claims, we have had a car claim in the past as well as a travel insurance claim.

Don't forget to factor in the discounted cinema tickets and meals with Compare the Market. We eat out a lot and the discount can add up to worthwhile amounts.

If you see any quotes you like, click through to the insurers website and save them there. They're usually valid for 30 days. If you don't find anything better just go back to the quote on the website.

The downside is that you have to register on each insurer to save the quotes.

I found this earlier this year and in the end tried using Quidco. What popped up were a list of insurers that were not covered by the other comparison sites, I quickly snapped a good deal from a well respected insurer. The bonus was a reasonable £30 cashback too.

Most sites allow you to save a quote. You normally have to give them your email address and they mail it to you. If you can't get a better deal, go back to that email and click a link to get back to the quote.

    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
