Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for kicking off. We have a glorious start this morning with sun forecast for most of the day. But we are gradually losing the warmth we had earlier in the week. Oh well, I suppose it's still only March.
It's an early doors shopping trip with DS this morning. I have quite a long list as this will be my first shop for 3 weeks! With all my gallivanting and meals out "celebrating" the big 80 I just haven't needed anything. But now the fridge is looking very bare and some fruit and veg has had to be binned. As yesterday was the last of my get-togethers I need to do a good restock.
I took Izzy's advice yesterday and left the cleaning for another day! I didn't take much persuading! So this afternoon I suppose I had better make a start I still have all the cards up too so I suppose they ought to come down first.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need/want of them. RUBY how caring you are but such a shame the new person didn't live up to promise. DP1 I am so sorry for you all with the lack of a decision to suit everybody. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning again, it's sunny here, going to be a nice day I think.
We came back from our little holiday a few days ago, it was lovely to be away. We had good weather, and thoroughly enjoyed the change of scene.
Belated good wishes for your 80th TA, hope you had a nice day.
I haven't read right back yet, but will do that. I'm sorry to read that you're having such an upsetting time with your parents Dp1, how sad it is. I hope the situation can be resolved, and they can be together.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care care folks.

Morning all
It's a cold misty morning here. Should get some sun later though, apparently.
Cooked a chocolate sponge yesterday so making my favourite Nigella's peanut butter icing to cover it with this morning. Then making a start on the base for shepherds pie for tomorrow's dinner.
DH popping into work this morning for an hour or so then coming back to put together my mini greenhouse so I can start sowing seeds to put in. Turned out he had to go in early yesterday because the alarm was going off and the alarm company couldn't get into the building as they didn't have keys! Stern words were had!
Nothing else planned today.
Have a good day all.

I need a bit of shopping but nothing much I might get out for a decent walk later but otherwise it’s a quiet day. DP1 I will be thinking about you this weekend although I don’t suppose you will get many answers yet . Good morning
Foggy here, but the forecast is pretty much the same as yesterday.
I didn't post yesterday. I read everyone's news and forgot to post myself, still didn't really have anything interesting to say.
Now DH has the materials for his diy project he has managed to injure his ankle, so is hobbling around. I've told him to rest, which shouldn't be too difficult as there's a football match on tv lunchtime, a London team near to where we used to live.
Not sure what to have for dinner tonight, there's a few options, so will see what we want later.
Dp1, fingers still crossed for a good outcome.
Ruby, shame about the new person, but good of you to help.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet- and welcome back from your break, you've been missed.
Despite the rubbish start yesterday the sun blazed through which gave me a really lovely drive home. When the weather is good everything looks so beautiful, not the same when engulfed in low cloud or mist. Today won't be as glorious.
I arranged a telephone appointment with the consultant for next week, I've given up trying to reach by email, perhaps that was the way to go much earlier. And I went out for a wee walk in the sunshine.
No shopping needed here, I have chicken chunks in the fridge which I'll make into butter chicken with a kit I bought ages ago and still in date. No washing to be done, I want to have a bigger load of whites before I turn it on. I washed my red woollen tights by hand so they're hanging over the bannister upstairs. No housework here either - my cleaner came when I was away so the place is clean and tidy. He also vacuumed the ashes from the wood burner (leaving a light layer) so it's ready to set. Oh, and I found and disposed of the first moth of the season.
My nephew's flight to Oz has been changed again - this time a very short transit time in Dubai, then a flight to Perth then one to Brisbane. All this needs more changes to car hire etc. I really hope that there are no more alterations between now and next Friday when they are due to fly.
Thoughts and hugs to our poorlies and those struggling with life in other ways. xx

Morning all
Bright and beautiful day here but quite cold, it will be a good drying day for the washing, I have just put a towel load on and there is another load after.
I was very lazy yesterday and took my car to be washed and they had an offer on for valeting so I got the inside done too, it’s a job I dislike so it saved me the effort. Today I need to start to empty the utility ready for the painter Monday, that will more upheaval for a while but worth it, OH will have to help get the TD down and we will have to find somewhere to store it for now.
Dinner tonight will be ham egg and chips, I will chop the spuds this morning so it will be a quick easy dinner later. Housework to do this morning and then dogs to be walked.
Have good days all and take care xx

Thanks Scarlet, glad you enjoyed your break, our sky is lovely again but def a lot cooler. We have a later start to DGS footie, 12 o clock start. I'll see if I can drag DH out for the dog walk but not holding any hope out, he's busy watching Youtube on political matters 😏
Not sure what we'll have for tea tonight, quite a few bits in the fridge though so will decide later. No home match today so I think patio cleaning will take place once we get home.
Hope you enjoy some sunshine today, thoughts with the worried and sad people. Take care all.

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons glad you enjoyed your break x
DH is off to the community allotment this morning as they are preparing the ground to plant a vineyard. Very exciting prospect. I was going to go too but didn’t sleep well. I have a sore mouth/gum which is giving me discomfort. Besides I have a lot of things to be getting on with here including repotting a houseplant and some laundry.
I still haven’t driven the new car so must do that today - we need food shopping so will take it for a spin to Tesco!Have a good day everyone
