E-On, fixed rate
being on a single rate with e-on i thought they would run alongside it a tou and free electric on a weekend etc and try to cut down on the 4-7pm time slot

They don't. They have Economy 7 and an EV tariff and that's it for tou, AFAIK. I believe they have offered free electricity on bank holidays to some customers.

EON do have a generic - or had one - TOU - Next Smart Saver - its at the bottom of their list here - but not sure if its a fixed and variable - the launch page simply refers to no exit fees.

Or its launch page

From the chart on that page - if you can avoid 4-7pm - you might want to get a quote if suits.
Demand / Weekends
I couldnt take part due to my E10 tariff in many of their other offers - but from memory they did also take part in the NG demand response schemes to offer cashback style savings.
