Disappearing and/or Updating (more £££) Energy Fixes

This morning I decided to sign up for a 2 year fix with EDF (I am on one with them that is about to run out). I signed up for Simply Fixed 2Yr Mar28v5 .

By mid-afternoon that had been replaced with V6 which is £50 a month more expensive, with EDF seriously hiking the gas unit price within the fix.

I know fixing is not for everyone, but it is clearly a fast-moving game at the moment due to world events.

Best wishes, Stuart

Many suppliers have withdrawn all fixes, for the foreseeable. You were lucky.

Just checked this tariff Simply Fixed 2Yr Mar28v6 and £540 per year more expensive than my current edf fix that runs out in feb 27 EDF Energy Simply Fixed Feb27v4. Monthly amount £246 . The 1 year fix is £735 per year more expensive Simply Fixed Mar27v5. So instead of £200 per month its £262 per month. Quite incredible and really scary.

Glad I fixed with fuse on the day USA attacked. Although now thinking might of been better going with one of the bigger companies.

Yes there is always the risk of smaller companies going bust and being stuck on variable tariff with ofgems chosen replacement company.
