SIP Car Park
Hi there, I wish I had found this sooner, but I recently got a PCN because I had forgotten to pay, it's one of those car parks where you can pay after leaving (I have done this once) and also used this car park without issue numerous times previously.
I initially appealed by saying that the app wasn't working when I tried to pay, hoping they would just give me a reduced fee and I would have been happy to pay that. They denied my appeal and I'm not at the IAS stage. After doing some research it would appear that the IAS is a non-starter and basically will just say the same as what SIP have said.
I'm already planning on ignoring the "fine" altogether as it's ridiculous, I don't know how they get away with it, in most industries if something is forgotten, a gentle reminder is served before they attack and attempt to litigate you.
That being said, is there anything else I can do at this stage or is it best just being left now?
Thanks

Leave it for now, wait until SIP send you a Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice, followed by a Money Claim
Ideally you would want to use an address for the service of papers as far away from Manchester as is possible ,because SIP wont attend a faraway court

Thank you, they already have my address though so not entirely sure what you mean by service of papers?

To be blunt, they have your CURRENT address, so if you could use a different address for official paperwork, especially a court claim against you, then a suitable address that you have access to, like Southampton, Brighton, Hull etc , far away, would mean you using a faraway court, not Manchester or Stockport ( SIPs backyard )
Service of Papers, is a legal expression, because its a legal matter

I see, so those types of virtual addresses which scan and send you the mail they receive? By which I'm assuming I reply to any claims with a request to use a different address for legal paperwork?
Much appreciated, thank you.

I mean a physical address, bricks and mortar, like a brother, uncle, dad, relatives address etc

I see, thank you. So just to be crystal clear the best thing to do is wait (how long do they usually take?) for a MCOL before I do anything?
Will they just transfer over to a collector at some stage?

So what when they do?! You've presumably seen the pictures of DRA threatograms in post 4 of the NEWBIES thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, I'm just confirming if that is indeed the next stage, I know to ignore until anything official from a court comes in.
Thank you for any and all advice.

Out of the blue I had a reply from SIP offering a reduced fee of £15.00… I will accept and pay just to clear it off my mind.
Thanks all2 -
