Morning Gers and all to follow
Looks to be a nice day here again, I am off to see O and it’s his Birthday today he is very excited, he is very difficult to buy for and he doesn’t have the use of his hands or legs so can’t really have a puzzle or game etc so I have bought him a vegan Birthday cake and some vegan ice cream (he eats vegan at home) he loves his food so I hope he enjoys them.DD is off to the dentist today, she has had braces for a couple of years which are now off but they have left a small gap in her teeth so she is going today to have an implant tooth fitted, she cannot drive afterwards so I will go and pick her up after work.
Dinner tonight will be jacket potatoes with cheese and beans and a salad, I thought she would be able to eat the inside of the potato if she is in pain.
DP1 sorry to hear the meeting was not a hugs success, the world of SW never moves quickly so I hope the best interest meeting happens sooner rather than later xxx
Have good days all and take care xx

Another day of warm sunshine is forecast though I’ll mostly be driving. Off to Dumfries and Galloway which is one of my favourite areas of Scotland and often quiet as it gets overlooked. Quick side trip to Perthshire at the weekend to meet my BFF who lives in the Highlands - we have Christmas and birthday presents to exchange!
best wishes to all - I’ll be reading along.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. RUBY I hope O has the nicest birthday he can with his disabilities. DP1 I read last night's post with sadness, I really hoped that sense would prevail at the meeting. Keeping on fighting their corner is all you can do.
It's another glorious start here but not forecast to be quite as warm as yesterday when we had 18 deg. There were even folks wandering round Skipton yesterday in shorts and tea shirts!! We felt totally over dressed but it did feel lovely having warm sun on our faces for a change. Absolutely no spending done by either of us, other than lunch and the compulsory bottle of vino!
Today no lunches out are involved. I have my annual medication, bp and other ailment check at the surgery at lunchtime. What will they come up with this time?! Then I have to dash back home in readiness for the hairdresser arriving. She has a set route for the five of us round here and I have scuppered it this time as it's unlikely I will be back for "my turn" so she has moved me to last when I should be back home, ready and waiting with hair washed in readiness.
I have got a jacket spud out to defrost for my tea, which I'll probably have with tuna mayo, as I imagine I will need something quick and easy after the dashing around.
Have a lovely day folks if you can, with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. SNOOZER I hope you are on the mend and ALLIE have a lovely holiday. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all
A bit misty out there this morning but the sun looks like it'll peep through soon.
Spent time in the garden yesterday which was nice with the sun out.
Sorry to hear you're still struggling to get the best solution for your mum and dad @dp1 Hope it gets resolved soon but it's never seems to be easy dealing with these people.
Nothing planned today apart from dusting and mopping downstairs and another foray into the garden. Little and often is my motto!
Have a good day all x

Morning again, not as lovely as yesterday though still mild.
Driving down the long peninsula was so beautiful, the sea was so clear, the sky bright blue and Arran looked so inviting. My hair was done by 12.30pm so I headed up and then down to Glasgow. By 3.45pm I was at the garage, handed over my keys and was taken to the hotel. It's not the best PI I've been in but by no means the worst, it's an older one and rather tired. What makes up is the friendly and helpful staff. The free WiFi didn't work in my room so the reception chap gave me a free code for the better pay one.
Yes @Coxy11 - had my breakfast already, I've brought back a banana, blueberry muffin and a flat white to my room. 😀 Have a great time in London
Happy birthday to O @RedRuby1231 - your gifts sound perfect.
At least the meeting happened @dp1 and your DM's strong views are now recorded. Is there any way thst she can be taken by ambulance / taxi / car to see your Dad? It's heartbreaking that they are so suddenly separated and he's pining so much. I really hope so. 💔
Lovely to hear about folk coming up to the Bonnyland - its beauties await you. If anyone comes up the west coast it'd be fab to meet up and say hi.I hope that everyone is doing well. 👋 👋 at our missing and hugs to all.

Belated happy birthday @Camelot
Dp1 I hope they see sense and your mum and dad can be together
Happy birthday O, I'm sure he'll enjoy the cake and ice cream @Ruby
Lovely sunny day forecast so I've no excuse not to do a few jobs in the garden.
Take care

Morning everyone it’s dull but mild after a glorious day yesterday we had a good sit outside yesterday watching the world go by and a bit catch up with people it’s amazing how many folks the sun brings out . DP1 I’m sorry for all your worries at the moment it’s so sad about your parents would it be to upsetting if your mam went to see your dad and then had to come back or would it settle them a bit you are in such a difficult situation I hope yesterday’s meeting gets a common sense outcome it’s sad how this world treats its old folk . Red Ruby I’m sure O will enjoy his birthday gifts . AA enjoy your break away I love Scotland and I think the weather has to be nice which is always a bonus . Just housework to do today I got a bag of potting compost yesterday but I never bought any bedding plants I’m going to wait a week or two everything was in bloom and we could easily have snow here yet everything got a good tidy so it will just be housework today I’m having fish tonight hubby is having Jacket potato . I might tidy the garage out while he is playing golf see what I can sneak in the bin . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning everyone and thank you all for your good wishes
I think we got mams' wishes across with the social workers yesterday, just have to hope we don't have to wait long for this best interests meeting. I could take her down to visit dad in the care home, but the nurse in charge at the hospital said not to arrange it for today in case she gets moved to the other care home with NHS beds. I'll ask the manager at dads' home what she thinks, it could make things worse …I'm undecided.
One of the social workers asked yesterday if I knew I had to pay a top up fee for dads' care…£100 per week which I don't have, so I'll have to ask about that too.
One bit of good news is I asked my brother if he could come and visit again soon as I'm exhausted, he's coming on Saturday and then again the next Thursday, so not as useless on this occasion!
Hope everyone has a good day x

Good morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off. Pleased to hear the better weather has reached you, long may it continue!
@Ruby - Happy birthday to O, your gifts have been chosen with care and thought and I hope he has a lovely day.
@Coxy - Enjoy your trip to London, your plans for the day sound great.
@AA - Have a good holiday and meet up with BFF.
@TA - I hope your annual check up goes well - like you, I always wonder what they'll find next!
@Chrisca - Ditto, little and often is the order of the day here too!
@dp1 - Hopefully things are moving in the right direction now and the Best Interests meeting can take place sooner rather than later with the desired outcome for your mam and dad. I'm glad your brother will be visiting again to give you some much needed respite. As for the £100 pw top up for your dad's care mentioned by the SW, you are under no legal obligation to pay for care home costs or care services in the UK for your parents; any costs are funded by parents themselves or the local authority. You may choose to make a voluntary contribution or pay top up fees where a care home is more expensive than the local authority is willing to pay (if you have the funds) but that's a moral responsibility rather than a legal one. The SW may have (unintentionally) misinformed you on that point.
It's a bit cooler here today but dry and sunny, I'm happy with that. I didn't get as much done on the patio clean/tidy up as I'd hoped yesterday but I can do a bit more each day if the weather holds. I've washed and stored away the sofa throws, I hope I haven't jumped the gun! 🤞 I've just put in a request for a call back from my water supplier about this year's bill - for some reason they're asking me to pay over 9 months rather than the usual 10 and there's a small credit that I can't work out, nor have they said what it's for. 🤔 Tea tonight is a pork & apple casserole with potatoes and veg.
Have a good day all, enjoy the weather and take care. X
