Some advice I was given by Report Fraud was to register with CIFAS who can help protect you against fraud, the other was to join Experian or such like and check your credit score.
On that site, you can also see what public information is held on file for you. This includes court judgements. I checked mine today and this record was clear.
I was also told to call 999 if anyone should turn up at your property purporting to be authorised bailiffs, although I was also reassured that given they wouldn't necessarily know what they might be facing upon arrival that it was highly highly unlikely that anyone would attend.
Good luck with it anyway and I think we can both be assured that our two cases are not the only ones.
