I am quite aware it has been answered many times as i can read !

I am also aware of open banking - does not mean bank statements are more than enough if need be.

Paper or electronic access can be abused/altered/hacked etc etc - nothing is foolproof.

Hopefully that is enough of a reply for you - feel free to get agitated again !

I'm far from agitated. Calm down please - I don't think you need a hospital visit.

My point is, open banking is very normal and almost default these days. Electronic access, however, cannot be abused or altered. It absolutely is foolproof.

So I hope that's not going to have you down to A&E tonight.

So how would they deal with someone like me then?

I dont do online banking at all. All my statements come from my bank in the post.

they may accept postal statements or they may decline your business if they are that set on electronic only. Up to the individuals I expect.

Open banking has absolutely nothing to do with online banking.
It's to do with allowing your solicitor access to see your account read-only electronically.

Your bank don't deal with your balances using ledger books any more.

Yes but from what I read you have to have an online bank account to use open banking.

but if you have never registered for online banking, you won't be able to log in to allow the app to access your account to see the transactions.

they may ask you to register for online banking so they can do it. if they don't accept paper statements.
