Compensation for extra nights/meals
emirates cancelled our flight on the 1st March , our package holiday had finished and we spent an extra 4 days in Dubai before returning to the UK. Our travel insurance is invalid as it doesn’t cover Acts of War. Our agent is only ATOL covered. We did pay on our credit card. Is their anybody we can claim off for the extra nights? For a party of 5, all on 1 booking we spent an extra £2000.

The UAE government said they would foot all these bills although I have no idea how to claim. I would approach Emirates first even though it's not a UK261 claim.

Maybe send the bill to the US government as it is their fault

If you were on an air inclusive package holiday then the tour operator would hold liability to accommodate you for up to three nights. Did you contact them when you found out your return flight was cancelled?
