Direct Debit returned
I had a senior moment yesterday where i didn’t have enough funds to pay my credit card direct debt. And the payment had been returned. I did top up my account before the end of day but it’s not been taken yet. On the credit card app it is still shown as processing. Does that mean it will be taken in due course? In the mean time I have made a separate minimum payment from my bank to the card company. Contacting both the bank and credit card company is by the secure chat but that just offers fairly generic advice.

Some banks seem to work by sending an initial message asking you to top up your account before a specified time to let them try. Assuming you haven't had such a message I suspect the payment has been rejected at the bank end and won't be automatically retaken so paying manually is a good shout, although be wary of being charged a failed DD fee.

It’s the Halifax. They say if you are overdrawn you have until midnight to fund your account. Though this amount was over my overdraft by £25. Annoyed for myself as normally I am on to getting any funds in needed early. I didn’t get any notification from the Halifax either by text or email.
