Morning all from sunny Mehefinland
Day 2 of sunshine - it must be a record!!😁 I took the brave decision and let Showman out naked yesterday ( without his rug) - funnily enough I got a hippopotamus back! He found the muddiest patch on the whole filed and had a lovely roll, grinding his shoulders into the mire. He seemed very pleased with himself - less os me who had the vision of trying to clean a load of wet mud off. Fortunately , as the farrier was coming later, he had dried off sufficiently to only look half dirty- then I got to that stage of cba, so he went out this morning for another attack lol. At least it is reasonably warm and it won't do him any harm as he is starting his spring moult. Fairy on the other hand has been shedding for weeks and looks like an old rag bag. To top it all she is in season and squeals any time I touch her. She will have to manage for now - a bit too handy with her feet and i do not intend to get kicked.
Potted up a whole load of Cosmos yesterday to grow on for our plant sale later in the spring - still got loads more to do. It's funny how the expensive seeds have mostly failed to germinate - I got 1 out of a pack of 6, yet the cheaper stuff is going like stink! Got a whole seed trays of tiny Nicotiana, Echinea,(Sp) and various other bits and bobs.Went through my stash of pots and containers yesterday too and sorted out some ready for use. I find old grape containers are very useful - just big enough to !!!!!! out the small stuff in batches of six to grow on.
Better go feed next door's dog - so hugs and spoons as always - and hoppy burpdays to those with or just had one. Cya

Good morning
Happy birthday to Camelot, have a lovely day.
Not much going on today, I got lots done yesterday, although I'm sure I'll find something to do. Burgers in brioche rolls tonight.
Dp1, I'll be thinking of you this afternoon, hoping you can get something sorted out in your, and mums, favour.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all, thanks @Gers and Happy Birthday @camelot.
It's another lovely sunny day with just a light breeze, no rain and highs of around 17 deg expected. The pink cherry blossom tree at the back of my living room is just starting to flower, I do hope the wind and rain don't come back to knock it all off. A pair of resident crows were out early doors looking for grubs by turning over the clumps of grass left behind by yesterday's grass cutters. They're quite vocal at times but thankfully their nest is some distance away from my house.
I had a gentle pottering day yesterday and did a few odd jobs around the house but today I want to get out to give the patio a good tidy up. It could be a case of do a bit, rest, do a bit more, rest again - you get the picture. 😁 Since I'm not as nimble as I used to be, this year I'll confine my efforts to just two hanging baskets and a couple of planters.
The pile of unwanted items in the communal hallway is multiplying; someone is doing a kitchen renovation and discarded cabinet carcasses, doors etc have been added to the pile. Fingers crossed it will be all be removed soon. The roll of rather nice wallpaper has disappeared, as have the four mugs - I'm glad someone has rescued them.
Tea tonight is salmon in a sweet chilli marinade with baby potatoes and broccoli.
Good luck today @dp1, I'll be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for a good outcome.
Best wishes to all, especially those with health concerns, have a good mid-week day and take care. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hi everyone,
Happy birthday Camelot.
Thank you for all your birthday wishes, Laura is very cross that she sent by 48 hours tracked has not arrived yet. We only seem to get a post delivery about once a week now which is very annoying if you are waiting for something.
I had a lovely morning and afternoon yesterday, unfortunately by early evening I was struck down by a horrible migraine and ended up in bed so that was a washout, good job we had planned lunch out rather than dinner.
I've reluctantly come to the conclusion that I'm going through a bout of the post viral fatigue that has plagued me since I was 11. I had my tonsils out (not a virus I know but looking back I'm sure it was the trigger) and then was bedridden, I missed a term of school because of it. Nothing I can do about it except save my spoons for the things I really want to do. Luckily Steve is really good, he's cleaned the house and done all the washing before our friends arrive this afternoon, he's also doing most of the cooking and meal prep. It's frustrating but needs must, hopefully it won't last too long now I've realised.
Have a good day.

Afternoon Everyone
Thank you for the birthday wishes, I'm having a good day so far with lots of 'Happy Birthdays' and hastily made cards from the children.
I will call at DD's on the way home as the little one expects cake with candles but can't stay too long as I have yet another heating chap coming to look at this blooming boiler. I think I will have to bite the bullet and have a new one, this one is 13 years old so hasn't done too badly.
Hope you feel better soon snoozer, you're perhaps feeling a bit down with the children moving out too.
Glad the painting is going well Ruby, shame about the plaster but better it comes off now than after it's been painted.
Thinking of you dp1, stick to your guns.
It's been a glorious day, not overly warm but bright and sunny - I had the washing out at 6 this morning and it should be dry when I get home.
Thanks again, take care. XX

hi all
Late one from me, and I’ve been absent I think 🤔.
Busy days at work and going away tomorrow so today has been floor steaming, taking Bdog for a hair cut, mowing lawns and packing the van. Can’t wait to be away and in Scotland 🏴 🥳 for a couple of weeks.
Happy Birthdays to all those I’ve missed and hugs for those that need them

Hello everyone and thanks for the good wishes
The meeting with 2 social workers lasted an hour and a half - mam was exhausted by the end of it. They asked mam so many questions and she did really well, basically said to them she wants to be with my dad in the care home, there were lots of tears. She's still in the hospital and we are now waiting for a Best Interests Meeting, which hopefully will be soon. She may get moved to a care home that has 4 NHS beds in it, until this meeting, the ward she is in is a temporary one as we are having a new hospital built very slowly…and it has less beds than there were in the old hospital…she will still be in NHS care rather than care home care.
If the powers that be then agree that she can have funding in a care home, then, in theory she can move into the same care home as dad, if there is still a room… Dad is declining by the day and just looks so sad, he constantly asks when mam will be there… I had no idea this would all be so difficult x

Oh @dp1 why do they make things so hard?! Does your dad have a SW? If so have they had any input into this?
Hope you can get some sleep tonight x
