Howden vs Wren traditional kitchen
Hi
Advice wanted on Wren or Howden traditional kitchen please. Want somerhing thats solid, looks lively and will last for years.
Not interested in handleless or glossy finish. Floor will be grey tiles with some white & walls white tiles with hint of grey.
If youve bought from.Howdens, what did you buy and your experience? Photo or links to products appreciated.

Howdens kitchen, shaker style in cream x4 for some rental flats. Completely satisfied with the design, quality, durability and price.

Can't help on which is best, I am sure they both do kitchens to suit your needs, on the basis of instinct and reputation generally only I'd say Howdens is better, Wren is more a B&Q kitchen shed equivalent with not necessarily great tradesmen doing the fitting.
If you use Howdens you'll need to find your own kitchen fitter as you cannot purchase from them retail. Worth a look on Trust Pilot for reviews.

I'd say Howdens as well. As above, the fitter buys from them, and fits it for you. Wren might be fine, but I've heard more horror stories about them than Howdens.

Our kitchen is howdens, not put in by us, but seems decent - I mean it's got to be 10-15 years now at least, perhaps more and it feels alright still. :)
I think trades are keener on howdens than wren

There's plenty of reviews / comments on this website regarding Wren kitchens; I don't think you've read them or you wouldn't be asking this question

Well, wasn't us! But yeah, it's normal white cupboards, I think they call it shaker style, with a pretend marble type top thingy. Some cupboards are curved to cater for an island we have. I'd say unless you're very tidy and careful, as with any kitchen, you may want some of the drawer or cupboard liners - the stuff from ikea - saves the shelves from getting a bit tired with pans pulled over them etc

Wren doesn't have a great reputation for quality or customer service.
Howdens is trade only and from our experience, is very quick to sort out any probems. When our kitchen was delivered it had a couple of incorrect doors (wrong colour), and new doors were delivered the next day.

check out DIYKitchens whilst you’re there - really good quality at a very good price.

I was mooching around a local Howdens recently, and got chatting to an older lady who was replacing her kitchen. She pointed out that the cheapest ranges - with the thinnest of the doors - felt a bit more flimsy and didn't really have any weight to them. When I compared them to the more mid-price ranges, I saw what she meant.
Neighbour has a Wren kitchen and yes, there were problems, and yes it took a bit of sorting out. I also thought their corner cupboard options were more limited than Howdens.
