Morning all.
@dp1 Probably not a lot of help but do your parents have property to sell? I dealt with both my mother (who did own a house) and her spinster cousin (who rented a flat but had enough money to pay for care for a while) and sorted out Residential Care Homes for them. Do you know how much your Local Authority will fund per week and are your parents able to top this up? Care Home fees are extortionate these days. Age UK sound like a good place to ask.
Thinking of you in all this and hope you get a good outcome.

Happy Birthday @snoozer have a lovely lunch x
Sorry I have no experience with SW’s @dp1 I hope a good solution can be found to keep your parents together 🤞🏻
That sounds awful @remmie 😮
Gosh @IzzyBee what an awful thing to happen - those children were so lucky to have you xxWe are picking up the new to us car later. Currently have a guy here sorting a small dent in our car so we can sell it privately.
Dinner tonight is pork and apple burgers and I have some laundry to do today.
Have a good day everyone

Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's thread start.
Do we have any Irish posters on here? If so, Happy St Patrick's Day.
Happy birthday @snoozer, have a great day and a lovely lunch.
@dp1 - My heart goes out to you in your quest to get the best care for your mum and dad as I fear you're going to have a battle on your hands. If your mum has mental capacity then of course she has a choice of what happens to her, although it may not be possible for her and your dad to be in the same care home if their care needs are different. Funding can also be a barrier. From experience, I found the more caring you do, the more you'll be expected to do, so don't fall for everything the SW tells you. Have a look at the Age UK website, arm yourself with as much info as you can and keep repeating your point of view to the SW.
It's a beautiful start to the day with bright blue sky, just a few fluffy clouds and the gusty wind has dropped to a gentle breeze. Milder too which is most welcome as I've been frozen for the last couple of days, I just couldn't seem to get warm at all.
I had a rude early awakening this morning, thanks to the council grass cutters doing their first cut of the year (it looks a mess 🙄), so I've been mooching around thinking what I should/could do today. Beyond the usual daily stuff, there's not a lot planned so I'll be going with the flow. 😁 A 'must' though is portioning and freezing at least some of yesterday's shopping; the rest that's well dated can stay in the fridge for now. We're having some kind of pasta meal tonight, I'm thinking a tuna & mushroom bake might fit the bill.
@Ruby - Oh no, I hope you don't need to get a plasterer in for the ceiling! Good for you on downing tools when you're not getting paid when you should.
@NRA - Having buns and kettle at the ready is always a good thing where tradesmen are concerned! 😁
Have a good day all, take advantage of the nicer weather if you have it. X
