Morning folks and thanks GERS. A lovely start here and set to reach the dizzy heights of 15 deg. And tomorrow 17 deg. Then, wouldn't you know, it's back downhill again!
Dp1 I can't offer you any advice unfortunately, I wish I could but you had excellent input from Brambling last night. It's about 24 years since I had dealings with social worker care for the elderly with my DM and it sounds as though things have changed a lot since then. It's good you have your brother on board now though and you are not battling on alone.
It's lunch day with DF today, as if I hadn't eaten enough over the last 6 days of "celebrating"! And on top I am still ploughing my way through the big box of Black Magic too. I braved the scales yesterday and surprisingly the damage isn't quite as bad as I expected!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for the sad, lonely or worried. Take care all be safe x

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, bet the weather's a bit rough where you are because it's blowing a gale here!
Busy day at work yesterday with a visit to a friend after, much chatting and tea drinking, I was very good and refused the goodies she had put out.
I hope your meeting goes well dp1, such a worry for you. Brambling gave some very good advice I think (I haven't had dealings with SW).
Has your painting started Ruby?
Glad you're still celebrating TA!
Have a good day, doesn't look like we will have much sunshine today, hope you enjoy it if you have it. Take care. XX

Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Sunday was as expected, heard nothing from DS, I don't exist in his world.
@DP1 I hope all goes well for you at the meeting, such a worrying time.
@TA pleased you had a good time
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -

morning everyone DP1 I hope you get a common sense solution today I’ve only ever had to deal with a SW once and that was a lot of years ago I won’t go into to much detail but one of my sisters died suddenly through the night neighbours informed us and we went and picked up her baby and toddler to bring them back here 6 months later after asking for help not for them we brought them up with my own we didn’t know who to inform or what you did with two children nobody knew where they were safe to say she left our house on the end of my hubby’s foot we have never seen anyone since that was 40 years ago what they ever thought had happened to them children I do not know. Off to do a cleaning job in a minute it’s fine and bright I will need to hang a load of washing out before I go it’s nearly finished it’s jeans they should dry . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Good morning
Dry and cloudy, but temperatures should rise to 15 degrees today, sunbathing weather!
Usual chores again, laundry to do, should dry well. I am quite shocked this morning to find out that a good friend (or so I thought), has verbally attacked another friend on faceache. The things she has said are so hurtful, and she has earned herself a weeks ban. I'm staying out of it, but it makes you see someone in a different light.
SO, hugs to you, my DS doesn't know we exist either.
Dp1, hope you can get the situation with your parents sorted out. My DD used to be a foster carer, so I have lots of stories of SW, not all good.
Sausages for tea, maybe with egg, beans and toast for a change.
Have a good day all, take care.

DP1 Just dropping in to say Age UK have a number of fact sheets on website.
Fact sheet 39 mentions Human Rights Act right to a family life where local authority had to house wife in care home with husband

Morning all
It’s going to be sunny today 😃 which will be nice, I have two people coming today and we are going for a walk in the woods and a picnic lunch, the scheme I work for on a Tuesday are about three weeks late paying me ( not for the first time) so I am having a battle with them currently, I have cancelled all meetings and refused to do any training until it’s sorted, the thing that really gets me is that all the office staff have been paid 😡
Camelot the painting started yesterday but we had a bit of a disaster with the ceiling, he went to scrape out a crack only for a huge bit of plaster to fall off, he had to pick away all the loose bits and now half the kitchen ceiling is bare plaster, he said he is going to try something today but if it doesn’t work then we will have to get a plasterer in 🙄 nothing is ever easy.
Dinner tonight will be spag bol nice and tasty.
DP1 I know how frustrating SW can be, do you remember all the trouble I had with Robs one? All I would say is keep putting your point across again and again, tell them she is not safe and that she will abscond from home and be in danger, you will have to be a bit firm and push your point- good luck xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning All
DP1 sending hugs. Stand firm. I know when we had my DMIL living with us pre covid the SW acted as if we were the solution and they didnt need to do anything. I do hope you get some good resolution sorted soon.x

SO and Remmie sending hugs, and know that we all think of you.x

Morning two - I've got my first coffee, a bit late for me.
Yesterday I made it on good time for the garage and the repair only took an hour, I'm so glad to have the beeping back. It's one of those things which I thought unnecessary at first but now rely on, along with cameras. Then I was told that the timing belt is due to be replaced - I've done 60,000 miles since March 2022 when I bought the car so I have to accept it. After a bit of juggling it's booked in for Wednesday and Thursday this week. Tomorrow I have an early hair appointment in Carradale after which I'll do the slog down to Glasgow and stay over.
I collected my order and then did a little shopping. I had put a couple of things in the car to take to the CS in Glasgow and then decided that I didn't want to part with them, and then once home re decided that as I hadn't seen or used them in about two years they have to go, much as it pains my materialistic soul.
I'm not good at parting with emotional stuff. When clearing out the small barn last week I found a stash of stuff from my beloved DM. Things like her degree scroll in a lovely red tube, the memory book I put together for her 75th birthday which I got all her friends and relatives to write in and then had bound, the Christmas angels from my grandmother and so on. I have no need for them but they are not going in the bin, they are back in the barn for Lawrence to deal with when I'm gone. The trouble is that I'm the only one left who remembers these things and understands the emotional attachment my DM had to them, the rest of the family have no notion at all.
Talking of family - Lawrence's (and family) trip to Brisbane has been rescheduled for two days later than planned so he's moved the return back two days. My fingers are crossed that the flights go ahead.
@dp1 - I have no experience of SW so can't offer any advice apart from that unless your DM is sectioned her rights cannot be removed. It sounds as if this SW is riding roughshod over medical input and your DM's wishes which seem to meld. I wish you well in the battle.
@remmie - some people always have two sides to them with the bad one kept well hidden. It does make one revaluate even long term friendships.
@camelot1001 - so far the weather is much less awful than the past two days. Huge amount of overnight rain and very windy but dry now. 😎
I have to go out to post the jeans back, I decided to have them altered so they're going back to the company. I liked them too much to return. So much indecision in my life, yet I spent my working years being ultra decisive!
I hope that all are well, dry and warm. Hugs to all.
