Switch from ICE to EV

What tech did you find helped you to drive longer?
Let's Be Careful Out There0 -
We're still at the stage where it's a good idea to plan a road trip in an EV. There are now more EV chargers in the UK than petrol pumps. But you still have to find them.
I tend to avoid the little 2 bay chargers on a long trip as they are often broken. Better to pick a big charging hub with lots of chargers.
I usually use the Octopus Electroverse app, as I have their payment card. You don't have to be an Octopus customer to get one. But Zapmap is another popular app and shows more chargers.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
Lane keeping and adjustable cruise control. You still have to keep an eye on things, but the car more or less drives itself on the motorway.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
You also can't discount how having a smoother/quieter/more comfortable drive is less fatiguing, though it's hard to apply any numbers to it.
You'll still get potholes and road noise, but you've not got the rumble of an engine.1 -
Would agree with that. Had the Zoe for at least six months before we did our first road trip - 700 miles to London and back in a long weekend. Could not believe just how I felt at the end of it - way better than driving our six cylinder petrol E class which I had always assumed was the benchmark - it is like stepping off a high speed electric train.

Indeed, I believe the technical term is "catnap".
