Selling 2nd home
We are about to buy a second home. If , after 2 years, we decide to sell it can we claim back the additional stamp duty or is that only applicable if we sell our present main residence?

No you can't claim it back in the circumstances you describe.
As I understand it, if you sold your existing main residence and moved into the new one within three years of buying it then you could, as you;d be repalcing your main residence. .

As above. Also, if you sell it after 2 years you'd be liable for CGT, minus any allowances.
