Sat Nav with hands free. How much will speed camera info be?

With regards traffic updates Navman do a traffic module which runs off radio updates. As suhc there's no subscription cost. Know this was out for the icn520 but would imagine it's available for new models as well.

I am looking at Garmin at the moment and there are Garmins that are WHICH Best Buys............. Here's my favourite at the moment and meets most of your criteria

Any comments on the TomTom 720 traffic, was it mentioned in the which reports?

Don't know whether to get the 720 or 720Traffic. Helfords had them for a good price online, but not sure how long it will last.

Not that I recall, most comments were given for the 520 Trafffic as it has only UK mapping, the 720 T includes European mapping which will have stronger selling power should you sell it IMO

Thanks Nytehawk. Wonder why which didn't cover the 720 . I'll see what halfords say about it, since they've got it on offer online. I also did some more searching on MSE and noticed that people have had problems when updating software on the 520 and something about backups.

I've got the Nuvi 310D and its a good satnav. But there are newer models now which offer more features for similar money. Go for either Garmin or Tomtom both have pro's/con's but equally capable for your requirements.
Is there a reason you want one with the standard width screen(3.5")? If not there is the Garmin NUVI 710T for £220(handtec) or the Tomtom 520T for £185(amazon). (The Nuvi 710T(UK maps) and 760T(Europe maps) are the newer versions of the NUVI 610 and 660).
Both models come with everything you need and a TMC RDS traffic receiver which gives you free traffic updates, its not a perfect traffic system but it works most of the time. As 'uktyler' says pocketgpsworld is the best for speed cameras.
Personally i'd go for the Tomtom 720T for £205, comes with Europe maps for an extra £20 more than the 520T, newer know when you might need them!!

No mention of the 720T in Which because they were highlighting the benefits of the 520T. As in other posts the 720 has additional European maps and a card slot but being on a site like MSE the buzz words are don't pay more because of the Eur maps if they arent going to be used (A bargain is only a bargain if you have a use for the item) and the 520T has all the good bits of the 720T but with UK/Ireland maps only HTH

TBH the prices vary from day to day as the end of the January sales come up. I just google the model I am looking for and go to that site to ensure my EXACT MODEL is there with current maps and with no hidden extras which is why TT make so much money. They have variants of the 520/720/920 series which unless you are Sat Nav Savvi you can easily miss out.

Hi Boatman, yes I have looked at the 720T but it is FM traffic compatible so it's an extra and the 660FM will also transmit through the speakers. IMO there are 3 units that seem to be head and shoulders above the rest subject to budget 1. Road Angel 9000 £299 + Free RA Compact)(Ex bit of kit) but requires annual compulsory subscription of £5.99 because there's a SIM card inside giving allowing you to have up to the minute traffic update without having to download from a PC
2. Panasonic Strada £249.99 Recently introduced with a 5" screen and has similar qualities and goodies to my favourite which is 3. Garmin 660FM £259 - £400 The priceless user feedback from this unit has almost priced it out of the ccompetitive market and that is why it's so difficult to pick up at a good price
