Good morning all, even though there is rain battering at my house so the morning isn't too good. 😀

I'm off soon to take my car for the long awaited minor repair. Not the best day for travelling but I'll take my time. Once it's done I've a couple of jobs in Glasgow though they won't take long.
The soup was made yesterday, eventually, it's so quick and easy I don't know why I procrastinate so much. Anyway, lots of lunches sorted.
I wish everyone a good day, if you're rain-free then it will be. Hugs to all.
PS - received a lovely tax rebate this morning, suddenly the day has got better.😀

Morning GERS and all to follow. Have a safe drive in your atrocious weather. It's fine here for now but I think we may have rain forecast before another mini heatwave arrives tomorrow.
I am back with you as an Octogenarian after all my celebrations! DD had booked us a lovely hotel for our stay and equally lovely restaurants for our lunches and evening meals. I came home Friday feeling like Bessie Bunter and then there was the family meal in the evening, followed by the Saturday night meet up with DD's ex MIL ( the girls other grandma) for yet more eating for early Mothers Day. I now feel immense and I still have a big box of Black Magic to wade through!
I don't plan on doing a lot today other than watching stuff on catch up and the washing that has accumulated. I don't think it will get hung outside if the forecast is right. I have tried to keep abreast of any of your news on my phone but may have missed bits. I hope everyone is ok. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope your journey is smooth although the poor weather could make it tricky.
Blustery this morning with some very sharp showers, will time going out to the car for between any heavy showers hopefully.
A friend and I went to Costco yesterday, I filled up with petrol as it's cheaper there and bought what I needed and a pack of socks that have DS2's name on them for Christmas! I lost my receipt between the till and the little cafe so had to wait for another to be printed. When I got in the car I found it in my trouser pocket!
After that it was a chilled afternoon, I was going to plant some seeds but it was a bit wet and cold so didn't bother, I did clean the greenhouse inside and out on Saturday afternoon so at least that's done.
Hope everything is ok remmie.
Hope you enjoyed the meal your DS cooked for you YL.
Hugs to you dp1, you've so much going on.
Nearly there Ruby, hope the painter does a good job.
Happy new bathroom NRA!
Monday again, no doubt work will be busy but I'm going to visit an ex colleague after, will be good to catch up.
DD and the little one are on Islay and should be coming home today but it looks like some of the ferries are cancelled so it could be tomorrow.
Take care. XX

Morning all
It’s a bit overcast here but no rain due, and tomorrow is meant to be lovely. We are waiting for the painter who said around 8.30 but last time he came he got here earlier, he is a very good quick painter and says he will have the kitchen done in 2 days.
Dinner tonight will be roast left from yesterday nice and easy to re-heat once he is gone. I am off to mums today and will cook her a couple of dinners and make some sandwiches for her tea, I think my cousin is coming to see her for an hour or so, mum will love that.
The house is upside down as all the kitchen stuff is in the study, I will just have to hoover round it and make sure things are clean.
Gers safe trip xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning
A bright start but rain forecast later, same old, same old.
Thank you for all your kind words, nothing has been resolved yet, the talk is yet to come. Although I did have a lovely phone call from my daughter which cheered me up no end.
Usual chores to do today, I must mop the floors, soggy doggy coming in does muck them up.
Chicken kievs for tea, with maybe chips and salad.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all, thanks Gers.
Sorry I've been missing over the weekend. Just tried to catch up on the thread but my brain hasn't retained much, older age has much to answer for 😗
Had a nice Mothers day, ended up getting a gift from both lads on Sat.mainly because there were a plant and flowers on Saturday after a supermarket visit, and then another visit from DS2 Sunday, as he was taking DGS back to his DM. Not seen DGD, she was going to the zoo and then yesterday a gig with her mum.
Finally heard back from ex Sis-i-L, they got back from Thailand, had to go via Frankfurt,23 hours travelling but at least they're safe.
We had steak for tea last night, it's been in the freezer ages, from the butchers pack. Not sure about tonight, but may go up to the retail park later. DGS deosn't need picking up until later as its school footie training ready for a match on Thursday.
TA glad you had a lovely weekend.
DP1 thoughts are with you and family. Take care all

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers have a safe journey today x
I am going into the office today then have a couple of errands to run, provided I leave at 3pm as planned. Obviously I’d be happy to stay on if they need me. Dinner is chicken pesto pasta.
We ate late yesterday as DH put the lamb in the wrong (cold) oven and didn’t realise for over an hour… by the time it was plated up we’d demolished a load of snacks to get by. I had some lovely pot plants from my three - much preferred to cut flowers.
Exciting that the end is in sight for your kitchen/utility @RedRuby1231 xGWS @IzzyBee x
Glad you had a good time away @TravellingAbuela x

Morning everyone and thanks for all your kind thoughts.
I saw DD and little one briefly yesterday to get my Mothers Day gifts, they gave me a lift to the hospital and they went to visit dad in the care home. Eldest DD sent flowers, she confessed she'd forgotten until Moonpig reminded her!
Mam was ok, she just wants to be with my dad, he was the same in the afternoon, he thinks he's never going to see her again.. Her social worker said her re-assessment should be Monday or Wednesday, I have my fingers crossed for today.
Right, I'd best get moving, I hope everyone has a good day x

Another chilly and blustery day here
Giving the fridge a clean out which is a bit overdue. Hung some washing upstairs as I didn't want to battle with a couple of steep steps with the washing basket and the wind trying to hang some sheets out on the line as my hip is still giving me a bit of gyp.
@IzzyBee in the same boat as you with the chocolate situation after Mother's Day!
{{hugs}} to those who need one and glad @TravellingAbuela had a lovely weekend
Have a good day all xx
