Morning all
Bright and sunny here with a good breeze, OH has his work clothes in the wm so they can be hung out after.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mums, and hugs for those not in touch with their children and missing their mums xxx
DD is still in bed but she said she will cook dinner today and she made a lemon tart yesterday which is my favourite, it will be a treat not to have to cook.
The grouting got done yesterday and it looks really good, we have got white tiles and a dark grey grout to match the kitchen, can’t wait for the painter to do his part now.
Dogs to be walked later and kitchen to empty and then a rest.
Have good days all and take care xx

Sorry forgot to say hugs to Remmie I hope it gets sorted soon xx
NRA my OH would love coming to your house, he works on a lot of houses and sometimes doesn’t even get a cup of tea! They have a favourite customer who they call sausage Susan as she always makes them food 😂😂

Afternoon all, thanks @Gers for today's thread start.
Not much change in the weather here - it could be dry or it could be showery, it's still windy and it's still chilly. That early promise of Spring didn't last long, hopefully it will be back soon.
Happy Mothering Sunday to all mums out there; I hope there will be happy memories for those whose mothers are no longer with us and send hugs to those who've lost contact with their own children. I still miss my DM and I'd be flabbergasted if I hear anything at all from my DD. I always thought she'd be the one to stick close but I definitely got that one wrong.
DS has taken over meals today; he's a good cook but it could be hard to stay out of the kitchen! I have no idea of what he's making for dinner but it will be nice to have it made for me. I haven't found anything on TV that appeals so instead I'm going to have a DIY pamper day and do my butterfly act of flitting between crafting and family research.
@remmie - Sorry to hear you had a bad day yesterday, hopefully today will be better.
@Gers - Fingers crossed the TV cables behave now they've been tweaked.
@dp1 - Glad to hear you had an enjoyable afternoon yesterday and I hope today's visiting isn't too distressing.
Take care all, don't get blown away! X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
When I was was traveling to the British Isles, my mother got two Mothering Sundays. I would get her a card and present on my trip and celebrate in March and then celebrate again in May when it is Mother's Day here.
My sister has a DIL who refuses to speak to her (in spite of giving them $250,000 to help buy a house). I see her children only on FaceBook. Have never met the youngest now 4 and the older one (now 8) we haven't seen since she was two. Fortunately, the other DIL has been great about letting us visit with her children. Families can be strange sometimes.
@snoozer - One of the people I took to England to do research went to see Abba three times in the one week we were in London and then again twice when we came back to London. He loved it. Hope you enjoy the concert.
Stay dry and warm - and try not to blow away. We are having the opposite problem here - expected to be 32C for the next five days! Hope Spring is cooler here than Winter has been. The East Coast is having terrible weather - lots of snow and wind. We are just too hot. No rain in sight either.

Am going potty - posted this in yesterday's thread by mistake!
Cupboard sorted and I survived! It was only a small step so I wasn't in any danger. Lots of stuff moved out and taken away. My plan was to stay indoors but I had so much to go to the tip and bottle bank, plus I had a med to collect from the vending machine, that I did it all between showers.Soup is next on the imaginary list for today.Tomorrow I'm off very early down to Glasgow to have the long-awaited repair to the car's reversing sensor. The part has been on back order since before Christmas so I'll be glad to have it done. I'll do a little bit of shopping when down there.8 -
