morning everyone bright and chilly here but it’s nice to see the sunshine.Mehefin pleased you are alright unfortunately we don’t bounce like we used to. Remmie my hubby is the same if you ask him what he wants to eat he says anything but he’s such a plain eater so we end up eating the same things week after week. I’ve had him cleaning the front and back windows this morning they were filthy it’s put some mucky rain down I’ve give the kitchen a good clean and the fridge a scrub out and a tidy I don’t what happened there but it was looking very grubby in the salad drawer of course the floor has been washed again. I bought a Xmas present in the charity shop yesterday it was still in the wrapping a cheese board with a pull out drawer with all the little knives in £ 3 I’ve just looked on Amazon and it’s £36 99 I know somebody who will be over the moon with it so that’s one ticked off the list . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Afternoon all, thanks for starting the thread @Gers.
Gosh, it was chilly last night followed by lovely weather today, blue skies with just a few fluffy clouds, set to be dry and far less windy. Top daytime temps 8 deg and feeling 4 deg cooler but at least the brightness makes everything feel so much better. Snowdrops here are going over now, crocuses are still blooming, quite a lot of daffodils are flowering (albeit a bit battered by the wind and rain) with more to follow and a nearby flowering currant bush is bursting into life. The blackbirds are making themselves heard too, a pleasant change from the chattering magpies!
I'm having a bit of a DIY day today (or should I say DS is), just a few simple things like shower curtain rings to put up, new kitchen sink plug to fit and move a couple of pictures on the picture wall. One wash load done, another currently in progress. Tonight we're having pizza topped with extra cheese, some shredded ham and cherry tomatoes with side salad. I'll have to do a grocery order this weekend, having an extra mouth to feed is rapidly making inroads into the freezer stocks and the fridge is looking rather forlorn too!
@Izzy - I'm impressed by your early start on Xmas present shopping!
That's about my day - simple but peaceful. 😊 Have a good weekend everyone, thinking of those finding life difficult at the moment and a wave to our MIAs. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Hello everyone
It's lovely and sunny here but chilly. Little one stayed last night, we sat in bed this morning reading lots of books, which was lovely. Tears after breakfast though when she remembered she'd left her Mother's Day card at school, she asked me to ring the teachers and ask if one of them could go and get it for her. Next idea was 'you know the code to open the door at school granny…so we can just go and get it ' Well yes I do, but no I can't! Then I suggested she make another card exactly the same, which turned out to be an excellent idea. The card was her handprint cut out and stuck down so it looked like it was holding a daffodil…we walked along to the edge of the field near to my house and cut one daffodil. ' Granny you said we have to leave flowers for other people to admire'…I said you're allowed to take one in an emergency!
All this and she has a card at home she made at my house last weekend….
DD picked her up not long after 11, they were going to soft play with friends. I went down to mam and dads, stripped dads bed as it is a hospital bed and was on loan, it's getting picked up next week. Then I sorted out the food cupboards, a lot of it was out of date so I binned it and put the tins, etc in a box to go to the foodbank.
It was very strange being in the house without them, I didn't like it at all. I'm not going to the hospital or care home today, and trying not to feel bad about it, they have got other visitors going. 'Other' brother must have turned up, which I'm quite surprised at…I'm hoping he doesn't say anything to upset or confuse either of them.
Right I've got dishes to wash, then I'm going to have a lazy afternoon . Hope everyone has a good day x

Cupboard sorted and I survived! It was only a small step so I wasn't in any danger. Lots of stuff moved out and taken away. My plan was to stay indoors but I had so much to go to the tip and bottle bank, plus I had a med to collect from the vending machine, that I did it all between showers.
Soup is next on the imaginary list for today.
Tomorrow I'm off very early down to Glasgow to have the long-awaited repair to the car's reversing sensor. The part has been on back order since before Christmas so I'll be glad to have it done. I'll do a little bit of shopping when down there.
